What psych said - "boy trouble" is good but not as strong as the b-sides or "midnight people" or "walk and talk".

so yeah, that Peter Gordon 12" was one of my favorite releases of the year. not surprised it didn't make a dent in the year end lists/assessments though...

Loving the LOLO album. The bit on the don't don't reprise at about a minute where the bass cuts out and the singers hold those notes over the kickdrum is wonderful. Like Leonin&Perotin were itching for 4x4. Drum programming on That Hat is amazing too, such a great record.

Don't Don't Reprise is utterly sublime. One of the best things I heard in 2010, for sure (perhaps the best 12" I bought, even?)

geneva & extended niceties is pretty cool, though i always liked the bonus tracks the best ("beginning of the heartbreak/don't don't", "extended niceties" and "don't don't reprise", all of which wound up on the dfa comp). the rest of the album is strong though, "young girls" in particular has a very similar saxophone sound to "heartbreak", and "cry like a baby, sing like a dog" has a nice soft rock guitar lead. it's mostly instrumental iirc

haven't heard the album but brooklyn sounds rad based on this...

also according to Insound the Holy Ghost! 2XLP is going to be limited to 500 copies so it might be hard to track down on wax (or at least until they do a repress)

Really? I can't see that many people wanting this on vinyl if the already have Static on the Wire on vinyl, which they should!
