Of all the more recent live material, this is one of my least favorite songs. And I don't think they added much to it other than a kind of cliched Radiohead gloss.

Today would be good, means I can listen to it at lunchtime/on my way home rather than inflicting it on my Radiohead-hating gf tomorrow.

The opener is sounding very much like something off The Eraser.

Shuffly slightly out of synch sounding drums, no immediate catchiness.

It needs to sound like the album cover (or have a different cover) or I will be mad.

No folk, no dubstep, no shocks (so far) - sounds an awful lot like you'd expect a Radiohead record to sound.

i'm gonna take a break from this thread starting now. i'll come back once i've given the album a few solid spins and have my own impression of it.

Well it's certainly the most oblique and understated Radiohead record for a while, a retreat into vaguely solipsistic soundscapes. The second half is stronger on first listen, certainly more traditionally melodic. Not a lot to hit you over the head, it'll take me a few goes to accurately judge the actual quality of the thing.

Everett True gets the knives out

Does Everett True generally not like experimentation or innovation? It's rather nice & fresh indeed, imho.

Seems harsh to criticise Everett True for being Everett True, when he's criticising Radiohead for...being Radiohead.
