you guys know that stupid article was in salon right

it made me wish batman had written an article on mfas (Edward III), Thursday, 17 February 2011 15:23 (fifteen years ago)

author of the salon article is female fyi

tellysavalas (some dude), Thursday, 17 February 2011 15:24 (fifteen years ago)

which makes talking about slapping her with a pimp hand for being squeamish about songs about rape pretty hilarious

tellysavalas (some dude), Thursday, 17 February 2011 15:25 (fifteen years ago)

she didn't seem squeamish, more like clueless about how the world works

oh the article was terrible and ill-conceived, no doubt, but using the R-word seemed to be a sticking point

tellysavalas (some dude), Thursday, 17 February 2011 15:29 (fifteen years ago)

the latest ilm sausage party

am0n, Thursday, 17 February 2011 15:32 (fifteen years ago)

i guess i dont understand how she can be a pop media blogger or w/e and not understand jersey shore

johnny crunch, Thursday, 17 February 2011 15:33 (fifteen years ago)

eh, doesn't seem to be a sticking point more than any other general coverage of them... for quite a while this was second google result for odd future

J0rdan S., Thursday, 17 February 2011 15:45 (fifteen years ago)

fwiw re: the earl situation, i read a forum about hardcore music that julian berman, a dude who takes a lot of OF's pictures and shit, posts on and he said that none of them actually know where earl is or when he will be back, they just know that his mom sent him somewhere because he kept getting into trouble

cyclops eyes over here (patsy), Thursday, 17 February 2011 15:57 (fifteen years ago)

kinda bittersweet imagining earl wherever he is watching fallon last night

just hope the dude is writing the greatest rap album ever while he's in exile

it made me wish batman had written an article on mfas (Edward III), Thursday, 17 February 2011 16:02 (fifteen years ago)

sorry to derail but I just watched the Jimmy Fallon vid and here're two thoughts:

1) these guys are witch-house as fuck (ie ban me plz)
2) I was wrong and Whiney was right: Earl is the shit but I def. think Tyler has the potential for a nagl middle age peddling bitter tirades a la Marshall Mathers...

kingkongvsbasedgodzilla (Drugs A. Money), Thursday, 17 February 2011 16:10 (fifteen years ago)

worrying about NAGLs of the future is baffling to me, esp when it concerns snotty teenage angst

it made me wish batman had written an article on mfas (Edward III), Thursday, 17 February 2011 16:17 (fifteen years ago)

i'll worry about how tyler might sound in 20 years in 20 years

J0rdan S., Thursday, 17 February 2011 16:18 (fifteen years ago)

right on. I'm just saying when we had the discussion on who was better on the Minaj/Eminem track on the EoY singles poll, and Whiney invoked OFWGKTA in Eminem's defense...he was right in doing so...

kingkongvsbasedgodzilla (Drugs A. Money), Thursday, 17 February 2011 16:32 (fifteen years ago)

yes, they are clearly influenced by eminem

J0rdan S., Thursday, 17 February 2011 16:33 (fifteen years ago)

anyways...

Earl getting sent away sucks bcz Earl rules, but at the same time, that's the kind of thing that builds a legendary buzz, one that doesn't wear off for decades...I don't think the whole 'Earl is missing' thing is a hyper-elaborate stunt perpetrated by OF but if it had been then they'd be even bigger geniuses then everyone has given them credit for

next thing u know we find out the ice cream cone tattoo is only temporary

J0rdan S., Thursday, 17 February 2011 17:07 (fifteen years ago)

the best thing that happened last night is still the revelation that paul schaeffer played "hi hater" for bill hader

J0rdan S., Thursday, 17 February 2011 17:08 (fifteen years ago)

The last few posts here are making it seem more and more likely that Earl will NOT be rapping at coachella :(

billstevejim, Thursday, 17 February 2011 17:14 (fifteen years ago)

tyler has been vehement about that being a lie

J0rdan S., Thursday, 17 February 2011 17:15 (fifteen years ago)

lol im freddie gibbs

but this perfomance def made up for the night before. that show was very disheartening

go oooooon

J0rdan S., Thursday, 17 February 2011 17:15 (fifteen years ago)

i had to stand in the back with the industry

every magazine dude who didnt give a fuck about them a week ago. 40 year old men. also the security was like they pulled them off a prison block. two guards threatened me. i was totally fucked up though. kids in the front seemed like they had a great time but i coudlnt get past the bearded flock

surfboard dudes get wiped out, totally, Thursday, 17 February 2011 17:19 (fifteen years ago)

oh

J0rdan S., Thursday, 17 February 2011 17:20 (fifteen years ago)

also 6 or 7 cameramen on stage makes a show feel a bit contrived. the whole thing felt like a media opp

surfboard dudes get wiped out, totally, Thursday, 17 February 2011 17:20 (fifteen years ago)

I had a great time with them on Tuesday if that means anything

billstevejim, Thursday, 17 February 2011 17:22 (fifteen years ago)

i showed up really late so it's partly my fault for having a shittier time

surfboard dudes get wiped out, totally, Thursday, 17 February 2011 17:23 (fifteen years ago)

damn 40 year old men son?

i got a thing for swag cru and i can't let go (tpp), Thursday, 17 February 2011 17:23 (fifteen years ago)

i would support banning all 40 year olds from rap shows

J0rdan S., Thursday, 17 February 2011 17:24 (fifteen years ago)

whew good thing I'm under 40 for a little while longer

never meant to heart anyone (Shakey Mo Collier), Thursday, 17 February 2011 17:25 (fifteen years ago)

altho lol I haven't been to a rap show in like at least 5 years. most of them suck anyway

never meant to heart anyone (Shakey Mo Collier), Thursday, 17 February 2011 17:26 (fifteen years ago)

damn these two old/new earl songs are nice

i got a thing for swag cru and i can't let go (tpp), Thursday, 17 February 2011 17:27 (fifteen years ago)

yeah. i would feel silly at 40 at a show where kids are running around yelling swag. unless i knew very well i was the richest guy in the room, then it'd be cool

surfboard dudes get wiped out, totally, Thursday, 17 February 2011 17:29 (fifteen years ago)

The extra camera dudes were a bit much.. ill give you that..

I really liked at the beginning when he threw them off the stage, but it didn't take long before they were back.

if it was some OF dudes make good videos that would be cool but if it's just magazine assholes trying to expand 'enhanced online content' that pretty much sucks

J0rdan S., Thursday, 17 February 2011 17:34 (fifteen years ago)

red head looked familiar. black guy guest didn't. once i see her name it will become super obvious.

Felicia Day.
