Looks like it's on XL in the UK btw
― seminal fuiud (NickB), Tuesday, 15 February 2011 16:26 (fifteen years ago)
That's virtually unreadable.
― Matt DC, Tuesday, 15 February 2011 16:27 (fifteen years ago)
The last one was on XL.
― Mark G, Tuesday, 15 February 2011 16:29 (fifteen years ago)
The amount of not so subtle changes in the cover's type is leading me to believe this might not be the actual cover... maybe it's more like a teaser of the final product.
― Moka, Tuesday, 15 February 2011 17:35 (fifteen years ago)
I think it's highly unlikely to be a traditional newspaper in the form of most of those album covers though, especially given what we already know about the cover. It might refer to lyrical content as well.
i think it might just mean "suitable for lining the cat's litterbox with"

Why are Radiohead so fucking shit at album covers? They're supposed to be a fairly arty band with a lot of aestheticism going on, so why does every cover look like some sort of messy collage project made by children with learning difficulties? I mean, the only one that's vaguely iconic is The Bends - and even that's complete shit.
― dentarthurdent (dog latin), Tuesday, 15 February 2011 18:44 (fifteen years ago)
Stanley Donwood has made the album covers all the way back the bends, fwiw, although Thom collaborates on it with him, I think.
― you are taking me apart, Lisa! (Z S), Tuesday, 15 February 2011 18:47 (fifteen years ago)
the best part about mp3s is never having to look at album covers
― bows don't kill people, arrows do (Jordan), Tuesday, 15 February 2011 18:49 (fifteen years ago)
p.sure donwood had an exhibition last year consisting of mock newspapers covered in dripping paint w/ drawings of creatures attacking each other

xps I don't think Radiohead has been trying for iconic.

The OK Computer cover is great.

at leas 'the bends' is an image... 'amnesiac' has to take the cake as the worst

This cover will get worse every time it is saved in a lossy compression format. Radiohead sucks.

I like the cover of Amnesiac, the simple but bold colour scheme works well. OK Computer has a very nothingy cover, I think.
― Inevitable stupid dubstep mix (chap), Tuesday, 15 February 2011 23:57 (fifteen years ago)
i think the Kid A cover is great. the rest are all whatever, though HTTT's is fun to look at, at first
― ciderpress, Wednesday, 16 February 2011 00:04 (fifteen years ago)
XP: A man who takes on all the kids on his estate for letting down the tyres on his car just to get stabbed for his troubles is simple but bold. The cover of OK Computer fits the themes of the album perfectly.

it's good (and the art for album that revered usually ends up 'iconic'). Kid A's and Amnesiac's alright. In Rainbows cover sucked. colours and text on this new one really ruin it for me.
sometimes think bands like this should just have a nice (even if 'ironic') photo of them on the cover and stop fronting.

oh man was the HTTT cover fun in high school. i think i drew my own versions of it even. with my own oblique vaguely dystopian buzzwords.
― difficult listening hour, Wednesday, 16 February 2011 02:13 (fifteen years ago)
i like this cover a lot actually but i kind of think of radiohead as a joke about radiohead now.
