Radiohead - The King of Limbs

The design of all three of those is so well suited to the respective bands. Will frankly be disappointed if Radiohead don't recreate the whole of the Observer, complete with all the supplements.

I for one am looking forward to Colin Greenwood's cookery column. Maybe the drummer could write an inane opinion piece about the diplomatic minefield of only sending out wedding invites through Facebook.

Tom Waits' Heart Attack & Vine is another obvious one of these. No matter how much extra stuff they add, it's kind of a played out idea already.

One of the few things we know about this album is that the artwork won't actually be a newspaper, dudes.

Yeah it that would be a daft assumption to make about something called a newspaper album that is made of many large sheets of paper and comes in a plastic bag.

I think it's highly unlikely to be a traditional newspaper in the form of most of those album covers though, especially given what we already know about the cover. It might refer to lyrical content as well.

It looks Animal Collective to me. Sort of an In Rainbows version of MPP with Thom Yorke on vocals?

It's Dave Eggers' quarterly literary magazine based in San Francisco. It has the pretty cool idea of changing format with each issue. I love the newspaper one, you can still track it down on line.

I like the way Vice has two intros on their made up review. That's something that ruined HTTT and In Rainbows for me is the awkward sequencing where the first two songs sound like first tracks.

Yeah, 2+2=5 and Sit Down Stand Up are both good tunes, but fairly similar structurally.

Xpost if radiohead got together with McSweeneys to do something together I would pay more than £30 for it. I spend enough on them separately as it is.

The amount of not so subtle changes in the cover's type is leading me to believe this might not be the actual cover... maybe it's more like a teaser of the final product.

Why are Radiohead so fucking shit at album covers? They're supposed to be a fairly arty band with a lot of aestheticism going on, so why does every cover look like some sort of messy collage project made by children with learning difficulties? I mean, the only one that's vaguely iconic is The Bends - and even that's complete shit.

Stanley Donwood has made the album covers all the way back the bends, fwiw, although Thom collaborates on it with him, I think.

p.sure donwood had an exhibition last year consisting of mock newspapers covered in dripping paint w/ drawings of creatures attacking each other
