also 17 bags? you have been on platinum records, you selling this shit? couldn't just go one or two at a time?

if there is a King Kenny, apparently he is huge into slapstick. (a hoy hoy), Thursday, 3 February 2011 10:34 (fifteen years ago)

super impressed by the new trae tha truth mixtape - http://www.livemixtapes.com/mixtapes/13127/trae_tha_truth_48_hours.html

so moody and pensive - love the deserty beats too

lextasy refix (lex pretend), Thursday, 3 February 2011 11:02 (fifteen years ago)

huh flopson has an opposite view upthread. i guess i'll have to check it. i think it's a freestyle tape with beats from all over?

ahoyhoy, yeah i was thinking abt that. weird to have 17 bags just lying around. idk i think he's prob not rolling in money, but maybe he lives large like that.

zvookster, Thursday, 3 February 2011 13:29 (fifteen years ago)

i didn't see flopson's opposite view b/c every day i wake up and this thread has like 800 new answers and i can't plough through them all :(

i didn't recognise any of the beats on it though.

lextasy refix (lex pretend), Thursday, 3 February 2011 13:34 (fifteen years ago)

i like the beats on the trae tape but his voice has lessened imo, used to be my favourite baritone (?) in rap but now it's kind of weak. still a sucker for the s/c loop sample chorus & those creepy beats tho, impeachable formula if ther ever was one

did u ever check the tyga/luger track "like me"?? its not a bmf retread & singlehandedly has me checking halfheartedly for tyga lol

*kl0p* (deej), Friday, 4 February 2011 00:30 (fifteen years ago)

Digging 'Really Raw'. Tyga doesn't quite nail the Pusha T vibe entirely, but it's not a bad look for him.

The bass and those horns are so...relaxed? Calming? The beat just doesn't give a fuck.

Alex in Montreal, Friday, 4 February 2011 01:03 (fifteen years ago)

ha this is like neptunes do rza

*kl0p* (deej), Friday, 4 February 2011 01:04 (fifteen years ago)

im thinkin that detuned guitar is a total rza ref

^ the lousy thing about tyga is tyga's shitty rhymes .... HOUSE AT POOH CORNER

الله basedأكبر (forksclovetofu), Friday, 4 February 2011 05:16 (fifteen years ago)

it sounds like Neptunes doing a west-coastcentric "Public Enemy #1"

zvookster, Saturday, 5 February 2011 01:40 (fifteen years ago)

yeah, it's like the difference between Shady Records and D12

hercudeez and nuts affair (some dude), Saturday, 5 February 2011 02:27 (fifteen years ago)

trae. to me, his voice always sounded flimsy and maybe sorta affected compared to everyone else he rapped beside. a bit too rough and a bit motionless, if that makes sense, like he was always circling back in on himself. all the nostalgic slowed down raps he uses, i always think i'd rather listen to the original. he doesn't stand up to that stuff.

dylannn, Saturday, 5 February 2011 06:44 (fifteen years ago)

feel like i recognize the qualities yr talking abt but i think he often captured and distilled a vibe into something else, like a v. cinematic film abt something rather than the thing itself.

zvookster, Saturday, 5 February 2011 11:30 (fifteen years ago)

digging "them boyz ain't right" from the new bricksquad tape, though i have to say gucci's verse on "we taken bricks" is the worst i've heard from him in a while

cyclops eyes over here (patsy), Sunday, 6 February 2011 06:12 (fifteen years ago)

that verse is kinda based in not the best way but i've heard many equally blah verses from him over the past three years

no beans, push to fart (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 6 February 2011 07:15 (fifteen years ago)

the bigger issue is no flocka verse in the first three tracks?

no beans, push to fart (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 6 February 2011 07:16 (fifteen years ago)

also this tape is mixed so low, jesus

no beans, push to fart (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 6 February 2011 07:19 (fifteen years ago)

this is more like a gucci/whoo da kid duet album

no beans, push to fart (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 6 February 2011 07:50 (fifteen years ago)

flocka on "everything brick squad" ^___^

no beans, push to fart (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 6 February 2011 07:58 (fifteen years ago)

The Diamond/Waka/Lex joint on Cocaine Waitress goes so fucking hard.

jim b?m (The Reverend), Sunday, 6 February 2011 08:08 (fifteen years ago)

i assume that the song labeled "g check" on here is actually called "funk love"

no beans, push to fart (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 6 February 2011 08:09 (fifteen years ago)

the production on this tape is great but i can't get over how low the volume is

no beans, push to fart (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 6 February 2011 08:11 (fifteen years ago)

lol @ this tape finishing & then going straight into one of the two bright eyes songs that i have on my computer

no beans, push to fart (J0rdan S.), Sunday, 6 February 2011 08:16 (fifteen years ago)

wtf?

rizzx, Sunday, 6 February 2011 15:16 (fifteen years ago)

lol @ XXL repeatedly referring to Scarface as Facemob as if it's his nickname, isn't it just the name of one of his groups?

some dude, Sunday, 6 February 2011 15:23 (fifteen years ago)

nah he refers to himself as facemob a lot

r0b /via/ orl (San Te), Sunday, 6 February 2011 18:58 (fifteen years ago)

re: the bricksquad tape, it's kinda weird that none of the leaked tracks that i assumed were meant for this tape are actually on it, and i wonder why they changed it from dirty birdz. i mean, the intro for a tape called dirty birdz leaked and shit, and there were bird noises all over a bunch of leaked group cuts. weird

cyclops eyes over here (patsy), Sunday, 6 February 2011 21:51 (fifteen years ago)

Also "This is what I do" which is still one of the best songs of the year. Maybe they'll be on a proper album?
