Digging 'Really Raw'. Tyga doesn't quite nail the Pusha T vibe entirely, but it's not a bad look for him.

trae. to me, his voice always sounded flimsy and maybe sorta affected compared to everyone else he rapped beside. a bit too rough and a bit motionless, if that makes sense, like he was always circling back in on himself. all the nostalgic slowed down raps he uses, i always think i'd rather listen to the original. he doesn't stand up to that stuff.

feel like i recognize the qualities yr talking abt but i think he often captured and distilled a vibe into something else, like a v. cinematic film abt something rather than the thing itself.

digging "them boyz ain't right" from the new bricksquad tape, though i have to say gucci's verse on "we taken bricks" is the worst i've heard from him in a while

that verse is kinda based in not the best way but i've heard many equally blah verses from him over the past three years

the bigger issue is no flocka verse in the first three tracks?

re: the bricksquad tape, it's kinda weird that none of the leaked tracks that i assumed were meant for this tape are actually on it, and i wonder why they changed it from dirty birdz. i mean, the intro for a tape called dirty birdz leaked and shit, and there were bird noises all over a bunch of leaked group cuts. weird

Also "This is what I do" which is still one of the best songs of the year. Maybe they'll be on a proper album?
