J0rdan really called me out on my latepassness of The-Dream the other day, and I went and (re?)visted that album and realized it was great. I am happier to have that album in my life. I kind of was hoping this thread could provide more examples of these records (ie, I've never heard the first High On Fire record!)

i kinda think we shd focus our energies on being otm in the future instead of worrying about how indie ppl were offtm in the past

I figured it would be a good catch all to include Pitchfork, Sgum, Paste, and the review sections of a lot of the print mags which focus on indie bands instead of like Kings Of Leon and Amy Winehouse. I don't know what word I should have used. I figured it would be self-explanatory, but I was so, so, so, so wrong

i honestly didn't think using a seemingly self-explanatory shorthand for "publications on the web and in print that focus primarily on indie (the genre) music" would be all that inflammatory. But it's apparantly like Pauly D from Jersey Shore walking into the middle of Daddy's at happy hour and yelling "HIPSTERS!"

like, I get Whiney's good intentions to proselytise music he sees as underregarded; he's chosen inflammatory terms to do so and offhandedly dismissed the consensus of music-fans as fervent as he, but I don't think he's dismissing them individually
