toot it and smang it are both good songs but toot it is like miles above
― i turned my head n boom I saw that tweet #wow (forksclovetofu), Thursday, 27 January 2011 21:34 (fifteen years ago)
I thought it was refreshing that no one genre had a stranglehold on the results.
― Johnny Fever, Thursday, 27 January 2011 21:34 (fifteen years ago)
haha it was my #1 too :)
other noteable omission: yahzarah
― flopson, Thursday, 27 January 2011 21:35 (fifteen years ago)
imo also
― whitney from mtv's the city (tpp), Thursday, 27 January 2011 21:35 (fifteen years ago)
yeah
Hm, that Arcade Fire remix isn't too bad. This track may grow on me yet.
Not in any major way but something about it reminds me of "100,000 Fireflies". The airy female vocals, the heartache... ?
― Danzig, with tears in my eyes (DavidM), Thursday, 27 January 2011 21:37 (fifteen years ago)
shit, great work everyone! this has been one of the most rewarding and inspirational ILM polls i've ever participated in. KIP in effect pretty much all the way through, and i heard tons of brilliant music i'd probably never have been exposed to otherwise. thank you for the fives, lil b, swans, caribou and so much more. love all y'all.
ashamed to say i didn't vote for "toot it and boot it". ;_; love that song SOOOOO much, but i threw my tracks ballot together in like 10 min at the last possible moment, and as a result it made next to no sense. i am proud to have helped "lightweight jammin", "shutterbugg", "yamaha", "lovesick" and "hard in da paint" along.
― normal_fantasy-unicorns (contenderizer), Thursday, 27 January 2011 21:40 (fifteen years ago)
If nothing else, this poll has introduced me to Earl Sweatshirt, and that p.dece Scissor Sisters track, amongst others.
― Danzig, with tears in my eyes (DavidM), Thursday, 27 January 2011 21:41 (fifteen years ago)
just got back from work where I was running around this morning singing RUH RUH LIKE A DUNGEON DRAGON for like 3 hours, thanks ILM!
looking forward to album poll
bummed that The Crystal Ark's "The City Never Sleeps" didn't make it
― sleeve, Thursday, 27 January 2011 21:44 (fifteen years ago)

xpost yeah. i really do love that song, though, and wanted to make a gesture of folly. that part i stand by.
― normal_fantasy-unicorns (contenderizer), Thursday, 27 January 2011 21:48 (fifteen years ago)
u r cool :-)
― flopson, Thursday, 27 January 2011 21:49 (fifteen years ago)
also, flocka was actually #1 for a bit there, but girl unit eventually surged ahead
the song in the top 10 that had the biggest jump in the final two days was "round & round" which moved from the 6/7 range to 3
"tightrope" was the one that was in the top 3 for a while but eventually ended up lagging a bit
― kl0pper city in the ghetto (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 27 January 2011 21:50 (fifteen years ago)
Okay, I have something special to share with you here:http://audials.com/en/tunebite/index.htmlfree download and thus far i am very pleased.

thx to y'all for reading & making a great thread
also thanks to the cinematographers & flickr photogs that gave me good material to work w/ for the screencaps
― kl0pper city in the ghetto (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 27 January 2011 21:51 (fifteen years ago)
is the album poll going to be a top 77 too?
― prolego, Thursday, 27 January 2011 21:52 (fifteen years ago)
two more things:
i'm so happy at everyone's reaction to "the age of information" -- i had a slight sense that it might win a lot of fans on ilm due to its exposure in this poll but i'm surprised at how many people that said they felt the lyrics & what not
also i got a nice big lol earlier when i saw lex's post about girl unit not placing
― kl0pper city in the ghetto (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 27 January 2011 21:53 (fifteen years ago)
xp yes
I wonder if the album results will have ILM's 1st ever rock album @ #1
― Algerian Goalkeeper, Thursday, 27 January 2011 21:53 (fifteen years ago)
also would it be cool if later i made a separate thread just for the images -- on a personal level i'm proud of them & don't want to see most of them lost under the fold of this massive thread
also i think it would be cool for the future cuz it would be easy access to results as the the full list almost always eventually falls under the fold
― kl0pper city in the ghetto (J0rdan S.), Thursday, 27 January 2011 21:54 (fifteen years ago)

― lextasy refix (lex pretend), Thursday, 27 January 2011 21:56 (fifteen years ago)
yes, i encourage everyone to do this
things that would have been cool but whatever
jeremih - waiter/five senses placed instead of ambient justin bieberlose my mind/toot it & boot it/why dontcha call me no more/bottoms up would have placed in place of like, telephone & 4 kanye songs
thx 2 everybody

i hear this track on the radio still & get so pumped but the fact that the album got shelved kinda pushed "lose my mind" to the back of my head & i didn't end up rating it that highly even tho it was my fav rap song all summer

I was just a stand-in for J0rdan on this poll. The albums one is my "baby" I guess (and, though I'm not accompanying the results with fancy screengrabs, I did make an effort to make the album covers all a uniform size and fine tune their coloration, quality, etc.)

do you think the high rank of un"populist" tracks, as contenderizer describes, is due to people like me who didn't weigh their ballots? assuming there were a lot of us..

12 people who did rank their ballots were the only people to vote for their #1 track. Interesting - how many ballots were ranked v. unranked?
