Sorry. I didn't check it. I just posted the link J0rdan sent me.

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 27 January 2011 20:48 (fifteen years ago)

fucking love round & round, i have no articulate way of expressing why its so good. its just very odd, catchy, and i just love the combination of wistful melancholy and goofiness. such good vibes.

also fucking love hard in da paint. should be number one.

karl...arlk...rlka...lkar..., Thursday, 27 January 2011 20:48 (fifteen years ago)

Y'all know #1 is going to be "Like a G6" right? I'm not even going to bother posting it.

Johnny Fever, Thursday, 27 January 2011 20:48 (fifteen years ago)

the new mordant & zingy ilxor persona (ilxor), Thursday, 27 January 2011 20:50 (fifteen years ago)

had so much fun at house parties this year playing hard in da paint and seeing everyone go crazy

karl...arlk...rlka...lkar..., Thursday, 27 January 2011 20:50 (fifteen years ago)

"Let Me Smang It" : Hip Hop :: "Round and Round" : Indie

Moodles, Thursday, 27 January 2011 20:50 (fifteen years ago)

So yeah, a couple of years ago it felt like a load of rap fans were overcompensating for pop-rap by throwing their weight behind these really limited MCs like M.O.P. and whoever, who nevertheless had impeccable hardcore credentials. That's exactly what the Hard In Da Paint bandwagon reminds me of, it just sounds lumbering and clumsy to me.

this is just a younger generation's 'ante up'

Sorry but Ante Up shits all over this from a massive height

2010 was a great year for highly-credible pop-ambient (acoleuthic), Thursday, 27 January 2011 20:51 (fifteen years ago)

it's kind of crazy to me how condescending people can be about these choices when the number of votes for each song is right there in the post. like you realize you're basically directly being a dick to large numbers of people who are actively following this thread, right?

congratulations (n/a), Thursday, 27 January 2011 20:51 (fifteen years ago)

imo doing the ILM poll earlier next time would be a good idea if the results are gonna be this close to P&J, feels anticlimactic

williamstevenjames (some dude), Thursday, 27 January 2011 20:52 (fifteen years ago)

BMF is a younger generation's (inferior) Ante Up

last night a Drugs A. Money saved my life (Drugs A. Money), Thursday, 27 January 2011 20:52 (fifteen years ago)

Except I didn't actually say it was being "overhyped like grime".

Haha but I love Ante Up. Maybe I'm just old.

Matt DC, Thursday, 27 January 2011 20:52 (fifteen years ago)

I know nothing about this - was "Hard in da Paint" a hit? Or is it a very local thing irl?

Glenroe in 3D (seandalai), Thursday, 27 January 2011 20:52 (fifteen years ago)

This just feels big and bullying and doesn't have any real ferocity, bite or kinesis IMO but then w/e

Not exactly blown away by Waka Flocka, but I would buy the person who came up with Waka Flocka Seagulls first a drink.

Danzig, with tears in my eyes (DavidM), Thursday, 27 January 2011 20:53 (fifteen years ago)

i like the timing! feels like a good palate cleanser after the lol/wtf of the P&J results

i mean there's been minimal butthurtness in here so unless you're implying that most of the electorate is silently weeping i have no idea why you chose to raise this point

if any lurkers have been silently weeping they can damn well put fingers to keyboard and defend their choices, lol

is everyone hating on 'hard n da paint' "ilxor," old and/or british, just checking

tuomascratch beat (deej), Thursday, 27 January 2011 20:55 (fifteen years ago)

Talking trash about a track != talking trash about the people who voted for it

Moodles, Thursday, 27 January 2011 20:55 (fifteen years ago)

or, if we weren't allowed to loudly complain about each and every track on this list, this wouldn't be ILM

Moodles, Thursday, 27 January 2011 20:56 (fifteen years ago)

deej i LIKE hard in da paint, i just agree w/ LJ that it feels "big" w/o really bowling me over
