Yamaha is okay...those synths are otherworldly (much more than in the AF song) but it's not my favorite song

the 'you wouldn't last a day in your world' lyric kinda freaked me out

so i'd never even heard of "round & round" before now? like i'd heard of ariel pink obv but i had no idea this was a particularly buzzed about song or anything. all i'll say is that i've just listened to "yamaha" twice, and this is woefully fucking inadequate in every possible way.

'round and round' is all about the contrast between thin meek-sounding verse and the big thick vocal harmonies in the chorus

not that loud-soft is a novel thing in 2010 or anything

Alright I officialy have no idea what the top numbers are. All of the crowd favorites seem to have been taken now. Waka Flocka is probably coming up... what else is out there? Girl Unit would be surprisingly and unjustly high at this point.

Lex - "Round and Round" was #1 on Pfork.

"Round and Round" is a song with so many compartmentalized parts, and only a couple of them are really good...but not good enough to make it the #3 song of the year imo

i successfully completely ignored the pfork list this year

I made it almost 2 minutes into "Round and Round" this time. 30 seconds further than I've made it in prior attempts.

Absolutely cannot understand the appeal at all.

There is something (intentionally) goofy about everything Ariel Pink does. If you can't get on board with that level of goofiness, then you'll hate all of his music.

Personally, I think it's fantastic.

Mmmm yeah feels strange Gorillaz not placing at all on this poll. Votes might have been splitted amongst their nominated singles. There wasn't any particular consensus on which one was the better one.

I went with Empire Ants when that song really kicks in it's such an incredible moment.

Pretty solid top 20 so far, Scissor Scissors was a huge shock but delighted to see it. That was my number 2 just behind Dancing On My Own.

I would have thought LCD might have had 3 in the list, I know a lot of people really love All I Want.

Really don't get the fuss around this Ariel Pink song at all. Someone explain its appeal please.

thought he was a goon idol, not a guy anyone else had heard of or cared about

love both this and "can't hear my eyes" (which i voted for), but i'm kind of offended that it scored so high. this is the first placement that's actually pissed me off, and it's funny that it should be for a song i actually like. it's just that "round and round" seems like a footnote, a weird little afterthought slipped under the door of pop. it's not a TRACK OF THE YEAR contender by any measure. just a solid, a cool little tune to stick on a mixtape or w/e. should have come in at #43 or something.
