^^echoed around playgrounds everywhere last year lol. what a fantastic summer jam - i wrote on the jukebox that it felt out of place on rated r at first, but actually it's another manifestation of that album's themes of self-reclamation - she's fucking the pain away, and if she wants you to be the captain and ride her, it's only at her behest - "imma let you...". and the imperatives in the chorus!

Sprawl II transcends its Arcade Fire-ness imo. I'm also doubting it will place at this point, tho I would be happy to see it b/c it is a jam.

i really like this song, but i do wonder in an academic way when we won't have pop hits built on stuttering trancey synths anymore. that's the sound of the decade imo.

Come to think about it there's nothing aurally speaking that actually brings to mind any Jamaican rude boys on that song. Which is frankly very dissapointing. Would love to hear her do some ska skit.
