Couldn't choose btw 'rill rill' and 'tell 'em' so voted for both. Album is in my top 5 of the year even if it is painful to listen to on headphones.

"Infinity Guitars" is my go-to Sleigh Bells track, but I like this one just fine.

"Rill Rill" is good, but I prefer Sleigh Bells when they go fucking mental.

ten silver drops IS underrated, just needs editing down (first 3 trax + last track are essential, rest is take/leave) and yeah it's more shoegazey goth-pop than anything else - NHIN is their pinnacle obv, s/t album is the REALLY underrated one tho

Sleigh Bells gets the thumbs down. avoided them because of their stupid name. instincts developed before the age of instant internet gratification that saved me from buying a lot of shitty music I hadn't heard.

not trying to make enemies, but...

Alpinisms ... had a hazy enigmatic quality that embraced the listener completely, whereas DfD is cleaner and I'd go with "too refined" to trigger the same immersive listening experience.

yeah, the production is pristine, but it's primarily the attitude & aeshthetics i struggle with. "ILU" is a romantic song and it has a gauzy ambience that suggests the chastely sexual, but there's no undercurrent of lust, no ache to balance the sweet. the erykah badu's "window seat", while much less pretty, seems much more meaningfully beautiful to me because it seems caught up in a web of complicated feelings: joy and pain and lust and a desire for some kind of transcendence. it's not fair to compare the two, as they have nothing in common and wildly different aims, but their list proximity forces the association in my mind. i guess i've always had this problem with shoegaze/dreampop as a genre. its beauty is often overwhelming but at the same time rather shallow-seeming.

an exterior of impersonal sterility w/ the subtle undercurrent of warm shoegazy fuzziness - imo this balance is the most interesting feature of SVIIB's sound, and something they definitely refined & improved w/ DFD.

"Rill Rill" is nice enough, then checked "Infinity Guitars" and it makes my head hurt.

Voted for TWO Sleigh Bells songs and this wasn't either of them. Good song though. More to come?

i like "infinity guitars" a lot more than "rill rill" actually

rill rill is okay, kinda the most straightforward indie-pop tune on there

robert smith is easily the best thing about this song. 30 years ago the dude was singing on 'faith' which is still more relevant a record than crystal castles will ever write

window seat is MILES better than ILU but then again it's completely blown me away so that's no disgrace for ILU
