Tensnake - "Coma Cat" - I sometimes think I like the critical faculties to distinguish between good and bad dance music, but this seems pretty ok, some of it reminds me of music that plays during the menus of Ridge Racer games...actually this is pretty cool the longer it goes

Robyn - "Hang With Me" - At first I was like oh i remember ILX hype made me by that "Heartbeat" song by her which is awesome, but I couldn't find it on google and realized that was Annie....this is ok, not as good as Heartbeat for sure, the synths remind me of Cyndi Lauper for some reason but i might be wrong...seems kinda anonymous

Gyptian - Hold You -- weird example of how autotune is influencing melody writing even when, in this case, it's not autotunes (or not explicit autotune)...either way, it kinda bums me out to hear a dancehall song that's so influenced by american pop for some reason, i guess i like it better when dancehall is like this spacey future world that influences america instead

Ciara ft Luda - "Ride" - I think this is awesome but it might just be how ridiculously hott ciara is in this song, my god. still seems like she has a p weak voice

Lindstrom feat Christabelle - "Lovesick" -- this kinda neat! funky. like the Survivor "Eye of the Tiger" style guitar loop. bow bow boooow badang badang booowmp. the vox remind me of Kim Gorden in "kool thing" for some reason

Kanye - "power" - the best song on the album by a mile

Sade - Soldier of Love - heard this once on ilx....but fucking wow, the whole thing. the taps funeral bugle at the beginning and the martial drums are great...p amazing how she can make something that's true to what sade is and yet still seems so current. Not real familiar with her outside of the hits, but this seems fucking awesome

Ke$sha - "Tik Tok" - shit i remember when i saw this video, it reminded me of Robin Sparkles from How I met Your mother, it seemed like when you watch MuchMusic in Canada and they have all these canadian groups that *seem* like american current stuff but it's just "off" somehow, like how our lady peace seemed back then or something. anyway this sounds like Canada's idea of partying in L.A.

Joanna Newsom - "Good Intentions paving company" - i like the idea of some harp playing unicorn riding weirdo folk girl, but i dunno, someone made the joke that she sounded like Lisa Simpson once and now I can't not hear Lisa Simpson when I hear her. She's talented tho

wow, this thread. I have, literally, heard only one song (Tik Tok) so far (lol grandad). Kudos to putting this together Jordan and Fever.

It took me three views of the Smang It video to realize that Smang is smash and bang combined into one word. Thought to myself, doesn't "bash" cover that, but then thought better of it cuz "bash" doesn't work. Very funny vid, the girl in the black dress seems to be on the verge of rolling her eyes everytime she appears.

Sade disappointed with a distracting beat. The snare sound grates on me. Was worried for a second that a guy was singing at the beginning. I dunno what I would do with Sade tho other than put Avalon era Roxy behind her.

Earl video is nuts. Good rap tho.

lol at Robyn being confused with Annie, same with me. Robyn song is good but will turn into meh I fear if I keep listening. I like the simplicity of the beat and the arpeggios (sic), which I am a sucker for. Kinda like early Client I guess but less propulsive.

i'm like a day behind so not gonna go line-by-line or anything, but most of the stuff that was new to me was like decent but not amazing--nothing where i was like "wtf u guys" except maybe ambient bieber, but also nothing where i was like "shit that's a must-get right now" except for lemme smang it.

the fives song was kind of nothing to me until i actually started watching the video (so props to whoever commented that it was a good video) and then i dug it more--prob cause there were dudes playing instruments #rockwillneverdie

real glad to see two caribou songs place--that album is such a joy.

i guess there are also some things that are so very ilm to me (as in i have never even really encountered them irl and don't expect to) that i just dont get, such as hot chip. i was like oh wow those guys are still around, oh wow they sound exactly the same.

some nice stuff about taio that was posted will cause me to revisit that but it might just be a tiny bit too annoying.

Aris Jerome is pretty easily my favorite music director nowadays. Mostly know him from doing tons of bay area rap videos (looked like the vid you posted was shot in and around San Francisco, which makes sense.)

"Hold Yuh" is such a sweet song, I wish this type of thing could be big here but I haven't heard it other than of my own volition. It seems ridiculous that I've heard Katy B and Tinie Tempah out in the wild (love both obv) but not this.
