Not to mention that he and beret-guy have the same-y color shirt so they look like one big horrible monster.

If upper left and lower right are wearing the same shirt because they're conjoined twins then this thread just made me sad.

His tall, skinny figure and red hair are his trademark physical features. Around 1994-5, he grew his hair out, which caused him to frequently be compared to Carrot Top. Aside from the long-haired period, his appearance has remained remarkably constant compared to that of his bandmates.

In 2006, Creeggan played the bass in Sarah McLachlan's Christmas album, Wintersong.

He currently lives with his wife, Anna, and son, Finn in Toronto.

I think this band is simply going to hang around forever. Eventually the members' children will take over for them.

Barenaked Ladies Cancel Disney Show After Drug Rap
By REUTERS
Filed at 11:18 a.m. ET

OTTAWA (Reuters) - Popular Canadian band the Barenaked Ladies has pulled out of a children's charity show organized by Walt Disney Co after lead singer Steven Page was charged with possessing cocaine, the band said in a statement posted on its website on Friday.

The five-man band had been due to play at the Long Island, New York, show -- the Disney Music Block Party -- late next month.

"Members of the band completely support Steven Page but we don't want to put Disney in an awkward position before issues involving Steven's arrest are resolved," group manager Terry McBride said in the statement.

Page, was arrested last Friday in Fayetteville, New York, and charged with possession of a controlled substance.

The band is best known for hit songs such as "One Week," "Pinch Me," and "If I Had a Million Dollars."

every time i see this thread on the new answers page, i open it and laugh at the title and first 20 or so posts. probably one of my favorite thread starts on ILM.

to me the worst guy is the guy with the nkotb hair+goatee. the one in the hat actually seems like he might be the 'funny' one IRL, but the forced zaniness of nkotb-hair and horn-rimmed assflake in the lower left makes them seem worse than retarded.

rockapads, Friday, 18 July 2008 22:08 (seventeen years ago)

A great friend of mine really inspired me on the perfect reason to hate the Barenaked Ladies. What pissed her off the most about these bastards is the fact that they probably got laid every night by different women in the 90s, and probably still do in Canada.

Also - did you know Jason Priestly backed some of their crossover into American mainstream? Canuck loyalty - awesome.

PappaWheelie V, Saturday, 19 July 2008 01:03 (seventeen years ago)

The arrest comes as the band, known for its clean image and cross-generational appeal, recently released a new album for children titled, "Snacktime," a collection of two dozen original children's songs.

As much as I can't stand their music I would feel bad for fattyglasses if dude either lost his marriage because of coke or got into drugs because his marriage fucked up.

Canada's Most Wanted

Eazy, Saturday, 19 July 2008 03:21 (seventeen years ago)

from roger ebert's review of their movie:

If you knew a lot about movies but nothing about a band named Barenaked Ladies, you might reasonably assume that "Barenaked in America" was a spoof--a "This Is Spinal Tap"-style mockumentary aimed at the popular image of Canadians as people who are awfully nice. While most band documentaries wade through sex, drugs and rock 'n' roll, this one has no sex, no drugs, and the kind of rock 'n' roll that reminds one of their fans of "something I'd hear at a dorm party." It's groundbreaking when the lead singer comes out in chinos and a dress shirt with the buttons stretching over his tummy. But the movie becomes even stranger when the camera goes aboard the tour bus. What do the band members do on the bus? Play euchre. Yes, euchre. "Euchre is a Canadian thing," one of the sidemen says. "I don't know if Americans have ever heard of it." Oh, and I almost forgot: There is sex on the bus, but it doesn't involve groupies and orgies. A couple of the guys giggle about sneaking out in the morning to dispose of used Kleenex.
...
The documentary, directed by Jason Priestley ("Beverly Hills 90201"), arrives in Boston, where the Ladies fill an enormous arena with their fans. We get the usual sound bites outside the hall, but not the usual opinions: "They look like guys you'd see working at the Gap," one fan says.

These spam networks are really on top of the whole "using public interest a current event to trick people into going to an infected website". E-mails with subject lines like "0bama pulls out of race", etc., etc.. Well I've just had one that says "Barenaked Ladies with cocaine overdose".

Being that the M0untain G0ats are supporting BNL in February, could we finally get the band themselves to weigh in and answer this question?
