re: Die Antwoord, I liked the vaguely rave-y feel of "Beat Boy" (yeah the best), & "I Don't Need You" and "Very Fancy" & mostly love Yolandi Visser's brattiness on "Wat Kyk Jy" and "$copie". Fish Paste i thought was funny, esp the Mariah Carey bit. As I said before,the premise is pretty thin...

Yeah the Fives thread was kind of a dismal failure in turning people onto the song but if everyone who voted for it put it in their top 3 it's got to be doing something right, even if there were only five of us.

This is kind of a revelation. I was only half paying attention when they did it on SNL, and J0rdan says it wasn't the greatest rendering of this song. But it sounds really great today!

ok this is a taylor swift song i love unreservedly, though i don't think i have any more to say about it than i already have in its thread/on the jukebox. i didn't vote for it though, and it's not in the top 5 of the album for me - still, 9/10 easy. it bridges the gap between fearless and speak now really well, i think.

Hi, I have yet to peruse this thread properly. And so far I think I've only heard a couple of things off it.

Very pleased the lex is giving Swans a bit of a go. I'm not a huge fan or anything, but that track is pretty good. It doesn't surprised me too much because I know lex has expressed some love for things like Elbow, Tom Waits etc who are all suitably dark and epic in a particular way.

The Games track that mystifies me is Planet Party. I hope it shows up.

Also, what are you guys like? What the fuck is the appeal of Taylor Swi... hehe, only joking - JOKING!

"mine" is okay. certainly catchy enough, but it belongs to a genre of things i don't care for and can't relate to. like the girl version of nickleback. unfortunately, i don't like nickleback, and i'm not a girl, so...

i totally said something nice. cotton eyed joe is an all-time great

'mine' would sound good in the middle of a 40 min block of country tunes, i wouldn't switch it off, but i'm not sure what's particularly special about it.

RE: "Mine"--I like the lyrics alright though: Swift breezes by the "careless man's careful daughter" line, but details like that redeem the singer-songwriter tradition imo...
