shoulda been higher

bernard snowy, Saturday, 22 January 2011 07:07 (fifteen years ago)

I gave the album 5 stars in my review which will be published on Tuesday.

rihanna rennavated my dick (rennavate), Saturday, 22 January 2011 08:28 (fifteen years ago)

I sent the "Kaputt" video to my jazzbo friend who likes almost zero new pop music and he said it was awesome. For some reason everyone gets this stuff.

played it for my jambro who likes phish and 'can't get into' indie rock b/c the musicianship is subpar or whatever... he seemed lukewarm

bernard snowy, Saturday, 22 January 2011 16:44 (fifteen years ago)

kind of a hard person to please tho — i thought for sure he would dig the dirty projies (not rly, altho he said the dude had "a good voice"), and akron/family before that

bernard snowy, Saturday, 22 January 2011 16:46 (fifteen years ago)

played it for the chick I'm seeing right now and she thought it was corny

This might be the most usual response... but ohhhhh how wrong it is.

i think its corny & i love it

last 2 girls in my car while this was playing made no remarks on it whatsoever.

is the world not ready for this album?

gr8080, Sunday, 23 January 2011 02:55 (fifteen years ago)

tbf the context of a gr8080 car ride i cant imagine this is a huge variation from what u are normally bumping??

*gets the power* (deej), Sunday, 23 January 2011 03:05 (fifteen years ago)

this album is a huge variation from ~everything~

gr8080, Sunday, 23 January 2011 04:03 (fifteen years ago)

last 2 girls in my car while this was playing made no remarks on it whatsoever.

not surprised. destroyer is a geeky -- albeit great -- act (almost wonkish with the insider-baseball lyrics about other musicians and the industry), and will always have limited appeal.

THAT'S NOT TO SAY P4K WON'T GIVE THIS DISC A 10.0, BECAUSE THAT'S THE RUMOR.

Daniel, Esq., Sunday, 23 January 2011 04:06 (fifteen years ago)

The vinyl has a 20 minute instrumental.

plan for 2k11: fewer albums, slower hype-cycle, bigger audiences, keep it positive
