― hard as a markers (J0rdan S.), Friday, 21 January 2011 03:07 (fifteen years ago)
maybe he couldn't decide which one to say and it's actually "ups to shuck"
― bernard snowy, Friday, 21 January 2011 03:10 (fifteen years ago)
pretty sure it's "party snatch baffled"
― knits you a baby (The Reverend), Friday, 21 January 2011 03:19 (fifteen years ago)
ehhh -- "party staff" makes more sense
― hard as a markers (J0rdan S.), Friday, 21 January 2011 03:20 (fifteen years ago)

― knits you a baby (The Reverend), Friday, 21 January 2011 03:22 (fifteen years ago)

― Dan Watagatapitusperry (Whiney G. Weingarten), Friday, 21 January 2011 03:23 (fifteen years ago)
how do you baffle a snatch
some dr. seuss shit
not to get all RAP TRANSLATED or w/e here but he drugged a girl at a party, the staff is confused, asks "where her ass go?" earl responds "in my room" etc etc
― hard as a markers (J0rdan S.), Friday, 21 January 2011 03:23 (fifteen years ago)
hahaha
― hard as a markers (J0rdan S.), Friday, 21 January 2011 03:24 (fifteen years ago)
you are aware of "snatch" as in the sense of "pussy", right?
― knits you a baby (The Reverend), Friday, 21 January 2011 03:27 (fifteen years ago)
like he's saying the snatch he met at the party is baffled, etc.
― knits you a baby (The Reverend), Friday, 21 January 2011 03:28 (fifteen years ago)
party cooze confused
― dj plain ole m@tt (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Friday, 21 January 2011 03:30 (fifteen years ago)
baffled also means to block sound or light
so maybe he's saying he silenced the girl
― dayo, Friday, 21 January 2011 03:31 (fifteen years ago)
but then idg who's asking about her
it's just an impersonal asking
― bernard snowy, Friday, 21 January 2011 03:32 (fifteen years ago)
"if someone asks where her ass went, the answer is ___"
or you could listen to the fuckin song, rev
― Dan Watagatapitusperry (Whiney G. Weingarten), Friday, 21 January 2011 03:33 (fifteen years ago)
yo can we put this conversation on pause while I go to sleep (where I'm a party staff)
― bernard snowy, Friday, 21 January 2011 03:34 (fifteen years ago)
xp I did, and I still hear it that way.
― knits you a baby (The Reverend), Friday, 21 January 2011 03:34 (fifteen years ago)
do you think earl is a viking at party snatch
― dayo, Friday, 21 January 2011 03:39 (fifteen years ago)
ive always heard it the same as ed and j0rdan fwiw
― ciderpress, Friday, 21 January 2011 04:43 (fifteen years ago)
they get kicked out by the bouncers at the end of the verse. there's clearly a dictated party staff present.

― children of the church planters (Edward III), Friday, 21 January 2011 15:04 (fifteen years ago)
"asking where her ass go" answers this question. because while snatches do not do this, a bouncer might.
― normal_fantasy-unicorns (contenderizer), Friday, 21 January 2011 18:21 (fifteen years ago)
either interpretation works imo
"party staff" more satisfying in giving the scenario a strong sense of place tho
why don't one of you journo types interview earl and ask him O RIGHT he cant be found
― children of the church planters (Edward III), Friday, 21 January 2011 18:23 (fifteen years ago)
ilx staff baffled, asking where his ass go
― ciderpress, Friday, 21 January 2011 18:25 (fifteen years ago)

― children of the church planters (Edward III), Friday, 21 January 2011 18:25 (fifteen years ago)
I listened to this again and he clearly says "sta" whether the "ff" is enunciated well that's another story, maybe he said "stache" like the party moustache, what kind of party has a party moustache?
― dayo, Saturday, 22 January 2011 01:51 (fifteen years ago)

OK, so I've immersed myself in OFWGKTA this weekend and I have concluded that the only truly great MC is Earl, and Tyler is only good for cameos and making beats. A lot of these 'posse cuts' are weak and this crew is too young to have their own Theodore Unit(s).
The Earl album is a front to back banger - a great (if short) 'album' in the tradition of Ready To Die and 36 Chamberz. I'll go to bat for that. The rest varies too much in quality. Also, the 'rape' stuff is out of hand.
PS I posted 'ofwgkta!' as my Facebook status the other day and it went 103 posts before I deleted it. Dudes were calling each other douchebags, hipsters, making threats...

cool post thx dawg
― flopson, Sunday, 23 January 2011 19:49 (fifteen years ago)
all the tyler & earl tracks slay + session is cool, so idk what posse cuts yr talking abt
bastard has an overarching framework that makes it hang together as an album whereas earl is barely a record, 'just' 25 mins of dope loose tracks
seems to me that mellowhype & domo have their charms

Who would think that a group of teenagers who released 12 albums in a year would have some that vary in quality

man tyler is such a great rapper. i feel like he's improved? my faves are his verses are on blackenedwhite (when i saw wolfgang you say fuck that/room full of wolves inhalers & used blunt raps) also looove his verse on fuck the police. definitely two of my favourites verses of the year. i like the character stuff & wolf haley interplay plus such dense rhymes spit so mean yet so nonchalant & graceful (houston we have a ni**er down and the ni**er that did it loves them gun sounds/bust triple six rounds now thats six cops found on that ground)
― flopson, Sunday, 23 January 2011 20:03 (fifteen years ago)
Wasn't bragging - didn't know half the cats on there posting. It just got outta hand. I was just trying to sorta illustrate how divisive this shit is. But, you know, whatever.
zvook - "Session" was what I was thinking about. Domo and Hodgy are ok, but who the hell are Jasper, Taco, Casey Veggies, Vince Staples, etc? Some of these fools are sub-Ice T's Syndicate. I can't hang with 15 tracks of Tyler, either, dude just doesn't have the lyrics or the flow to sustain an album IMHO. I dig the idea of an overarching framework, but it just isn't original to me. Dudes have been mining the 'I"m troubled and suicidal and I'mma shock you now, look, I'm a cutter and shit" thing for a while now - Cage has made a career of it.
Earl, to me, is something special. "How the fuck I fit a axe in a satchel?" LOL
As for Biggie etc - I think there's plenty of reason to name-check dudes who've made hip hop classics (and, err, Theodore Unit) when discussing a dude who has the potential to make one in 2011. Just sayin.'

oh my god, they've been a band for like a year, wait for the other dudes to come up or like turn 20 before dismissing them entirely for fuck's sake.
