want but don't want the vinyl, i wish there was some indication of whether a digital version is forthcoming..
― shart to the *plop* (electricsound), Thursday, 23 December 2010 02:16 (fifteen years ago)
agreed.
even with the vinyl releases, I usually dub it to .mp3 and file away the record forevermore.
― my opinionation (Hamildan), Friday, 24 December 2010 22:56 (fifteen years ago)
I emailed Static Caravan.
Very probably and very soon with luck was the answer.

finally. anyone else feeling the Dylan Ettinger releases?
― my opinionation (Hamildan), Tuesday, 22 March 2011 19:04 (fifteen years ago)
Love the new album, by the way. Easily their best work, in my opinion, not to mention their boldest.
― A. Begrand, Tuesday, 22 March 2011 19:26 (fifteen years ago)
Thought Dylan Ettinger's "New Age Outlaws" last year was great.

I heard the 'Director's Cut', not what I expected given the descriptions, but I still enjoyed it. What's his connection to the Zombi crew?
― WARS OF ARMAGEDDON (Karaoke Version) (Sparkle Motion), Tuesday, 22 March 2011 21:35 (fifteen years ago)

Don't snooze on the side projects!
― busted p (electricsound), Saturday, 30 April 2011 01:13 (fifteen years ago)
As mentioned upthread Steve Moore's "Primitive Neural Pathways" is fantastic; groovy artwork too:
http://t1.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSMIV5JogCpJe5HIPJ9ES3BwGQG_8hD6iwmYl99SYZkkxnVEjKDyg
As was also mentioned upthread, the Miracle album is terrible altogether.
Any newer sideproject releases? I'm not so good at keeping track.

― a lagoon par la mer (psychgawsple), Saturday, 30 April 2011 02:31 (fifteen years ago)
majeure released a spilt with sankt otten pretty recently. it's great, and the vinyl version is beautiful. http://www.denovali.com/sanktotten/
― bove, Saturday, 30 April 2011 08:14 (fifteen years ago)
Loved the Majeure remixes. Gonna get on that split album now.
― my opinionation (Hamildan), Saturday, 30 April 2011 10:01 (fifteen years ago)
All these things are on Spotify, excellent! Gonna check out Gianni Rossi and Majeure now...
― Lidl Monsters (seandalai), Saturday, 30 April 2011 13:02 (fifteen years ago)
Was hoping that Miracle would be good, but so far it's dreadful...the vocals are ugh. Much love for Majeure. Also if no one's checked out the new Maserati, Pattera's influence looms pretty heavily on it compared to previous outings.
― WARS OF ARMAGEDDON (Karaoke Version) (Sparkle Motion), Saturday, 30 April 2011 18:50 (fifteen years ago)
i can't wait to pick the new one up tomorrow.. DE3's got some great lindstrom vibes

No kidding. Sometimes I prefer and enjoy Steve Moore's solo stuff more so than him working with his partner. This new 12" is solid gold.
― last updated 2 minutes ago by 1 minute ago (van smack), Monday, 16 May 2011 22:47 (fifteen years ago)
Gonna have to check that one out...I'm enjoying Escape Velocity quite a bit at the moment but I wouldn't say it's much of a progression from Spirit Animal.
― Fear Moldova and the Nation of Leaners (seandalai), Monday, 16 May 2011 23:05 (fifteen years ago)
Just picked up Escape Velocity at lunch break and eager to drop the needle when I get home.
― WARS OF ARMAGEDDON (Karaoke Version) (Sparkle Motion), Monday, 16 May 2011 23:57 (fifteen years ago)
I'm enjoying this but I gotta say, anyone who's really tripping balls over this one really needs to do themselves a favour and check out Jean-Michel Jarre's Magnetic Fields, which this occasionally seems a pretty direct rip of.
― Sean Carruthers, Tuesday, 17 May 2011 02:03 (fifteen years ago)
Escape Velocity is the first/only Zombi album I've heard that occasionally makes me think of EBM synth sequences, especially DAF (maybe it's the four-on-the-floor/dance emphasis on this one).
― Just been offered an interview with him by his manger. (Craig D.), Tuesday, 17 May 2011 02:12 (fifteen years ago)
Craig, forgive me- is that a particular synth or a musician?
― WARS OF ARMAGEDDON (Karaoke Version) (Sparkle Motion), Tuesday, 17 May 2011 02:30 (fifteen years ago)
Oh, sorry--DAF, the German band signed to Mute in the early '80s (here's a stream of their third album, from the particular period I was nodding to):

Yeah, Spirit Animal's a keeper. Just one run through of this one--sounds good so far. Side 2 sounds like it could have been called Majeure though. did they always split the songwriting on previous releases?
― WARS OF ARMAGEDDON (Karaoke Version) (Sparkle Motion), Tuesday, 17 May 2011 16:07 (fifteen years ago)
xp *insert frothing Algerian Goalkeeper recommendation for Spirit Animal*
