In the grand tradition of Empty Nest and Hello Larry, Nick and Buzz now have their own thread. Cashing-in on their popularity:
Nick and Buzz: C or D

(Short-lived, no doubt.)

Draw Tipsy to see if you give a shit about art (Dave225), Thursday, 28 July 2005 10:37 (twenty years ago)

the only way this thread shall perish is in a horrific zepplin crash, much like the Hindenburg, but bigger and instead of people perishing, text will be set a'flame and severe Dune references will litter the landscape!

or it could always go 'Old Yeller' style...

or maybe old age.

perhaps nick n buzz will hax teh b0@rd!1!

Zack Richardson (teenagequiet), Thursday, 28 July 2005 16:26 (twenty years ago)

I wish I owned girls' pants! I have a girls' cardigan, but sadly it is too small for me now.

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 28 July 2005 16:36 (twenty years ago)

"i'm still aghast that someone from the DMB fanbase is SO violent."

have you ever been to a frat party and seen these people? my god, they're animals.

oh, and hi zack. i was fairly drunk when i wrote that, and i still mean every word.

JD from CDepot, Thursday, 28 July 2005 16:42 (twenty years ago)

Also, stupid hippies don't like DMB anymore. Whenever I hang out with rich, collegiate hippie-types they NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER listen to DMB.

I'm Hi, Jared Fogle (ex machina), Thursday, 28 July 2005 17:09 (twenty years ago)

also very true, DMB was much more late 90's frat hippie fare.

JD from CDepot, Thursday, 28 July 2005 17:26 (twenty years ago)

did Marissa Marchant show up here yet?

damn...

eedd, Tuesday, 2 August 2005 14:48 (twenty years ago)

who's shittier - Uncle Cracker or DMB?

SWA fan (SWA fan), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 21:35 (twenty years ago)

JW, who do the hippie frat kids like these days?

jaymc (jaymc), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 21:37 (twenty years ago)

Thse aren't hippie frat kids! These are hippie jamband kids with gay friends who live in CoOp housing and have keggers where we dance to Funkadelic and the wHo with FOG MACHINES.

I'm Hi, Jared Fogle (ex machina), Tuesday, 2 August 2005 21:45 (twenty years ago)

I think we should give the thread another year, then lock it and have da Capo publish it as "Best Music Writing of 2006". Nothing else in the book, just this entire thread. They wouldn't even have to go find a hip guest editor like Joss Whedon or somebody, just use this thread as-is.

Edward Bax (EdBax), Friday, 5 August 2005 00:56 (twenty years ago)

xxxxpost - double damn.

Susan Douglas (Susan Douglas), Friday, 5 August 2005 00:59 (twenty years ago)

To each their own. I happen to love DMB. I may not like the music you listen to but I wouldnt get on some internet message board and bash your band. But its ok. Like I said, to each their own

Michael P, Sunday, 7 August 2005 17:55 (twenty years ago)

****Anyone Burned on the Gorge Stage Hand Posting for Dave Mathews?
Reply to: [email protected]
Date: 2005-08-27, 11:43AM PDT

Looking to pursue legal action against the promoter House of Blues and Flame Productions, for this posting for last weekend. Many of us traveled hours to work this concert, were on the list for stage hands only to be told we were Sh**t out of luck the morning of the concert because of overstaffing. I have a lawyer to pursue a class action suit for compensation for lost time, wages, gas, etc. Please email with your name and contact info if interested. A three hour drive only to find out none of it was true was not fun for any of us. Please contact Craigs List with your complaints so they can't do this again. We already have 5 others' info to get started and there must have been another 50 in the same boat. Don't let them get away with this. No one will get rich on this but a few hundred per person is realistic.

* this is in or around The Gorge

jergins (jergins), Monday, 29 August 2005 19:46 (twenty years ago)

Edward III (edward iii), Monday, 17 October 2005 03:45 (twenty years ago)

Haha, that's kind of blowing my mind right now.

jaymc (jaymc), Monday, 17 October 2005 03:48 (twenty years ago)

I think DMB may be the worst thing that comes up on the muzac at work. This includes Boyz II Men.

Special Agent Dale Koopa (orion), Monday, 17 October 2005 03:50 (twenty years ago)

This thread is my favorite thing on the internet. Especially this part:

"And comparing him to Hitler? I think that's the rudest, most iggnorant thing I have ever heard. Hitler killed 6 million people. Dave makes 6 million people happy every year by putting on amazing shows and for a few hours, making them forget about all the shit that goes on in the world."

john bolton's body, Monday, 17 October 2005 06:26 (twenty years ago)

I like Dave Matthews himself, as a person... but I'd rather die than listen to a single song.

when he mumbles that hike up your skirt a lil more and then says something about na na na, i'm in the castle... he's teasing me like because he's getting laid and i'm not, i'm watching his gay video that the director refuses to tell anyone how he made... wtf?

grrrrrr, that sh** drives me bonkers.

Paul Rosora, Monday, 17 October 2005 06:46 (twenty years ago)

I happen to love Dave Matthews Band! I can't imagine how much time those of you that don't have spent at this site bashing him and his music. It is fine if you don't appreciate the talent that the members have, but get a life and don't waste your time writing bad things about someone on the internet.

dmbfan34, Thursday, 20 October 2005 20:29 (twenty years ago)

There wouldn't be an internet if you deleted all the people writing bad things about someone.

TS: "Dave Matthews Band : Name Your Reasons Why They Are So Bad & Hated" vs "Try Glasgow More".

Pashmina (Pashmina), Friday, 21 October 2005 12:11 (twenty years ago)

"Try Dave Matthews More" ?

Last Of The Famous International Pfunkboys (Kerr), Friday, 21 October 2005 12:41 (twenty years ago)

If we haters thought ignoring the DMB would make them go away, that would be our approach. But no, a collective takedown is of course necessary!

TRG (TRG), Friday, 21 October 2005 13:01 (twenty years ago)

Hmm, so this is the Dave Matthews thread. I've been around, but never been here before. It's not surprising, I've never heared the band.

OK, I'm off now.

Many of us here have issues. Some of us don't floss enough, others are stuck with those who don't floss enough; some of us drink too much, some of us don't exercise ,etc. But one thing that improves our lives is that our ears are never assaulted by the DMB, unless by sheer unfortunate accident.

TRG (TRG), Saturday, 22 October 2005 13:50 (twenty years ago)

EGAD!!!

this is the what the future shall refer to as 'smart-art' which will come to mean- people that looked beyond the context of merely bashing an idea/thing/person and went into the realm of complete absurdity. therefore transcending the original horrible idea/thing/person being bashed and made the bashing of bashing more fun that the original idea/thing/person. seeing only what it was before them and the tools available to achieve this were txt and img related, they managed to convey an idea so universal and supported that google had no choice but to accept that DMB Suck and ARE so bad&hated.
and as we all know, when the TimeWarner/AOL/Google-lords took over, this was one they're most favored creations...

thusly, the txt's and img's were printed in gold-leaf and embossed on virgin catepillar silk made into the finest paper-esque substances available, and distributed amongst the peoples so that they, too, might know of the exquisite hilarity that was DMB+his fans trying vainly to turn other's well formed and also well based opinions.
run on sentences were all included and extended by taking out all punctunation...

eedd, Saturday, 22 October 2005 14:31 (twenty years ago)

this is the what the future shall refer to as 'smart-art'

of course, Nick and Buzz will be regarded as the architects of this brave new art movment!

M@tt He1geson (Matt Helgeson), Saturday, 22 October 2005 18:36 (twenty years ago)
