Every track seemed to have a lot of different versions, so there's actually going to be a digital-only version of the album soon which will have some of those on there. I can't tell you how many versions of "Keep It Up" and "Baby Can't Stop" there are. It was really hard sometimes to pick which one to put on the album. -- Lindstrom

Is anyone here a big Actress fan? I love a couple of tracks in the middle but don't understand the album-of-the-year love.

it's one of those albums that sound nice when you're doing something else as far as i can tell - never got into it beyond that. though at the protests last week i was assured that repeated listens would reveal its true wonder. that person used the word "deleuzian" in all seriousness two minutes later, fyi.

if you're ill atm i would imagine that's the ideal time to give it another go tho!

After a decade of reading bloggers talking about dance music, fuck "Deleuzian" and the Guattari it rode in on.

The James Blake album, however, is amazing ill-person music.

iirc one of the 'rules' of noz's lists is that an artist can only be on the list once as a primary artist (although no limit to features), like there was only one gucci solo track on his list last year too

Love a few tracks off the Actress album (Lost, Always Human, Purrple), kind of admire a lot of the rest (its sense of purpose, its thoroughness), but don't really feel a pressing need to go back to it much.

How do those last.fm charts count though? I'm assuming they count all plays of the artist over the course of their set time frame, no matter what release. So, no one else finds it surprising that more people listened to Beach House than even all the old Eminem stuff?
