this album is really fucking boring

i got the version with the bonus tracks and of course those are some of the best tracks on the album, but all of the boring cookie cutter emo pop tracks are stacked on top of each other so I have to skip 7 tracks to get to another decent one.

I don't mind her going more pop for her debut but at least it could ahve been interesting. faux-poignant pop with cliche lyrics, meh

the "Moment 4 Life" beat is so dope but ugh her singing

a lot of this album has grown on me - once you ignore the really egregious shit there's a lot of stuff i genuinely enjoy listening to. even "moment 4 life"!

So. Video isn't as amazing as it could have been, but I'm glad that her team have finally realized that all of the genuinely GOOD SONGS are on the bonus tracks and started releasing them, especially since this is a perfect summer jam.

I love how the first two or three couplets are at like 100 mph, kinda wish she went 'beatless' or 'acapella' (if that's the term) longer, kinda disappointed when the beat kicks in tbh

i agree this is a perfect summer jam. i think this is her first single with kinda corny pop-ish production that's been any good (as opposed to, say, "right thru me" which sucked) - and it's actually REALLY good. it will be an impt song in many middle school girls' lives.

"moment 4 life" was okay but nowhere near the perfect pop moment that "super bass" is - actually it took taylor loving it to make me realise that "super bass" is basically all about capturing pretty much exactly what taylor does on "you belong with me", "love story", "fearless", "hey stephen", that all-consuming thrill of a crush.

the lyrics/video make that song corny but the "Moment 4 Life" beat itself is like the illest beat on rap radio in the past year

like if any male rapper had done a non-R&Bish song on that beat people would be putting it on year end lists no doubt

it would still be close to mine but as i've said before (i think in TSJ comments actually) the song is just structured really weird, it kinda falls off a cliff after drake's verse (btw BY FAR his best verse ever)

yeah it's totally a high point for drake and nicki's kinda dead weight by comparison

i was driving across the Bay Bridge in early July, on my way to meet my man-friend who was making me dinner, and "Super Bass" came on, and so of course I turned it up REALLLY LOUD.

and then i involuntarily started crying. the production is soooo cheesy and beautiful that it actually made me weep.
