i was hoping "orchestra of bubbles" would be a little lighter in mood, honestly.

Which I do hope she wants to make again (she's hinted about a fourth one long before this came out in some interview), or if another EA/A album... I'd like it to have a bit more steel & focus than this.

Okay I've had this for a while and liked Jet nice enough but never, y'know, got that enthused about it/understood the fuss, but I'm listening to it right now at full volume and it sounds like the best thing ever. Metric is AMAZING! It has a deep groovey bass that Berlinette is a bit lacking in and oh shit... Floating points has the best opening since the little cymbol sounds on Silent Shout *tsh tsh thmthshshshshsh*

Listened to it 2 days ago, it really is fantastic.
― mehlt, Friday, 8 February 2008 20:11 (eighteen years ago)
On the playlist here, too. Superb walking-around-in-winter music.
― briania, Friday, 8 February 2008 20:51 (eighteen years ago)
I was also thinking how great "Do Not Break" would sound in hip-hop mix/as a hip hop beat etc.
― mehlt, Saturday, 9 February 2008 02:10 (eighteen years ago)
i think this album is my favorite from either artist.
― later arpeggiator, Saturday, 9 February 2008 02:51 (eighteen years ago)
There is a great dubstep-y song on this disc. Metric, maybe?

I'm still waiting for a return to form after her excellent 'Weiss Mix' (2002). Neither 'My Parade' or 'Fabric 34' did very much for me.
― sam500, Monday, 11 February 2008 06:11 (eighteen years ago)
no, neither did.

she's coming to seattle for the first time 5/1 and i don't want the world to hurry up but i also can't wait
― jergïns, Monday, 11 February 2008 06:27 (eighteen years ago)
my favourite bit on the whole album may be when the bass drops on 'Under'
― blueski, Monday, 11 February 2008 13:21 (eighteen years ago)
it's all about 'jet'.

enjoying this today, weeping along to "rotary" ... what happened to the old me that was too happy-go-lucky for this kind of music, i wonder

this is some seriously good shit, slightly below berlinette, which is flawless imo
― prego, Monday, 29 August 2011 13:53 (fourteen years ago)
the Apparat RA mix that went up in the past days or whatever made me return to "Orchestra of Bubbles." i'd sort of thought of Ellen as a bit of a joke after what i considered flat efforts (plus the whole going into fashion disaster thing that i hated) of the past few years....
but jesus, now i remember why i played this album so much in 2006. it is fucking awesome.

really enjoying apparat's new album: apparently originally intended as a soundtrack to a stage version of war & peace?!
