It was an enjoyable listen.

Finally got round to hearing new Kylesa (thanks in part to Neil K) and it's reassuringly satisfying.

I don't smoke grass but if I did I would smoke a lot of it over the next few weeks while listening to Black Masses by Electric Wizard and the new Kylesa on constant repeat.

Didn't even think of checking Grooveshark! I will certainly be buying both of these immediately upon release.

This Le Kraken album really is terrific stuff. Wonder how good their other albums are.

hey anybody know anything about Evils Survives (super retro NWOBHM band from UK) or Spellcaster (Portland something or other)? they're playing a show here next sunday for $6 and judging from the myspace samples it will be either much better than expected or uh not good at all.

also plz to share my pain that the triptykon/1349/yakuza show is tomorrow but i will already be at nomeansno. peeps need to start scheduling around my desires.

I interviewed Evil Survives for decibel, nice enough guys. Fun album, too. Probably worth the six bucks. I'm sure Nate knows about spellcaster.

Mind you, as I'm now in plaster Supersonic is going to be a giant clusterfuck.

Broke my ankle* on Friday when I slipped off the edge of a path. It only hurt enough for me to go to hospital today.

* Not 100% confirmed broken yet, but plaster on until Tuesday and I have crutches.

Supersonic looks great- would love to see Zeni Geva, Eagle Twin, all the headliners, and there are a bunch of acts I haven't heard but am intrigued by.

new slough feg is really great. we should be voting for albums like this in the Big ILM EOY Poll, try introduce it to the wider ilx folk. If the autogooners can organise bloc votes then so should we tbh.

Yeah, I'm definitely in the thumbs-down camp where SF are concerned.

I'm not especially opinionated about Slough Feg either way, but voting blocs are silly.

I like Slough Feg, but on first listen I'm not sure this one is any great shakes. The sound of the record is right on but the songs didn't grab me like on some of their other records.
