ah yeah forgot that one, yeah it's great!

I think the monthly DJ mixes that Vito and Stephen have both been releasing since the split have been more inspired (and twice as many!) than in the months before they broke up. I'm all for it if it means more good music for everyone.

well apparently the album had been written two or so years ago, so it's more like they existed in some weird parallel zone where they were throwing out amazing remixes while also writing/recording crummy album tracks.

I got the impression that these were written, but as time wore on and they (or just Vito) got more money he would go back into the studio and do something to the existing tracks. I've only heard the album once, but it does reek of someone piling on over time.

It makes little difference really, they just aren't good songs full stop.

so, anyone seen aeroplane dj's since the split? how was it like? still the same?

Why won't Vito just leave things alone? He just remixed Gypsy & The Cat's "The Piper's Song" (a song I've loved for a full year) into a complete mess.

Did you see the retraction Vito made?

"Last week the internet saw an Aeroplane remix of Gipsy & The Cat spreading everywhere. Going up to number 2 on hypem.com and even being played on BBC 1 Radio.

Due to miscommunication Sony/RCA mastered and released an MP3 of a raw demo on the Neon Gold blog, who has been turned down.

Here is my final mix. I would like everybody to delete the other version from their drives.

yeah, no. I listened to it all the way through the other day at work just to give it a second chance, esp. after I had so much love for them in the last few years, but, no. It's really terrible.

it's much much much better than the album. his own track is, imo, the weakest of the lot though.

i heard the original of that completely unexpectedly recently and was immediately, like, WHAT IS THAT I TOTALLY RECOGNISE IT. it was totally bugging me for a week - and i was shocked to discover that what i'd heard was a lykke li song, because i thought i hated lykke li, and had certainly not heard her song.

anyway i eventually realised it was sampled in this, which makes it sound a lot more opulent and grandiose than the original

I don't like the original Lykke Li song very much but it's not actually aiming for opulent. Grandiose, maybe.
