you are surprised that ILM would rather spend more time talking about an annoying, ignorable white dude than any black dude?

lol my scoring average has been pretty low as of late but my curmudgeonly criticism never seems to have anything to do with anything else going on w/ me -- plus i write about 5 singles i love every month but only 1 or 2 out of those 5 tend to get covered on Jukebox too

zania 1 hour agoPlease seek the lord. I feel bad for the person who wrote this article. So much hate its a sin. Seems like you are angry that a young black man was able to correct his mistakes and come back and do good. Chris has God in his life and you need to seek the lord.
Jasmine 1 hour agothis is worst article i ever read....you can sit and beat on yourself all you want Chris Brown is back and he is here to stay...stay madNext time before you write a post about Chris do your research for example you forgot he is nominated for 3 grammys.....
― return of the nakh (J0rdan S.), Friday, 17 December 2010 17:46 (fifteen years ago)
chris brown fans really love to tout his grammy nominations
"You know what shocked the shit out of me? The Chris Brown renaissance that occurred this year."
Not to get all Kreskin, but "shocked the shit". Wow.

when, as rich notes in his article, chris brown took to the internet to beg his fans to pay attention to him
― return of the nakh (J0rdan S.), Friday, 17 December 2010 17:53 (fifteen years ago)
& anyway the singles of 'graffiti' were by far the least successful of his career, then the "deuces" thing happened & now...

xp yeah, i remember a LOT of industry people being like "he's toast, disposable guy anyway really"couldn't pull for his live show for awhile but i hear that's really changedi credit BET with being the organization that did the most to rehab chris brown; they push him on 106 and Park nonstop and they kept having him on awards shows and talk shows to tell HIS SIDE OF THE STORY

deuces feels like it was the turning point tho, yah
um wasn't said incident THIS YEAR? the year the same article posits as being Chris Brown's big comeback year? wtf
― twat dust and ego overload (Shakey Mo Collier), Friday, 17 December 2010 17:59 (fifteen years ago)
first half of this year: not comeback year yetDeuces released in june
― I spilled, saucer-eyed, into the Tonetta fanclub underground. (forksclovetofu), Friday, 17 December 2010 18:02 (fifteen years ago)
so it looked like his career was over this year - except it isn't. also are those interviews before or after the whole BET MJ tribute thing...?
this guy's career was never over. he released a shitty album that no one bought/liked, but that's hardly unusual (as evidenced by ALL THE OTHER albums that tanked that are referenced in the article)
xp

SARAH 2 hours agoTo the ASSWHOLE that wrote this article you forgot the mention:
Chris also currently has a hit song YEAH 3X sitting at #22 and climbing on BillBoard Top 100 with no promo.Plus serveral hit collaborations that you failed to mention in your stupid ass article.-Jae Millz (Young Money) featuring Chris Brown - Green Goblin
-Bow Wow (Young Money) featuring Chris Brown - Aint Thinking Bout You
-British rapper Chipmunk featuring Chris Brown - Champion
-Diddy Dirty Money featuring Chris Brown - Yesterday
-Jawan Harris featuring Chris Brown - Another Planet
** Chris is also collaborating in the studio with Justin Bieber**
You mad. Stay mad BITCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hello 1 hour agoWtf is wrong with you??? Chris has been doing GOOD this year. He is Grammy nominated, and it has NOTHING to do with pity. This article was so hateful and nasty that I couldn't even get through it. You are a horrible writer. If you don't like somebody then shut the fuck up and don't waste your time hating on them. Chris is a talented artist and you're just a hateful asshole. Rihanna has moved on and Chris is trying to do the same without stupid fucks like you writing shit like this. You obviously need a damned life!!!
Oh and by the way, Chris is taking responsibility for his actions. Judge Schnegg praised him on how well he's been doing at making up for his mistake, and that he's taken full responsibility. Do your research asshole. Get a life.
And another thing:If you don't like Chris so much than why the hell did you listen to Graffiti? So you could hate? But that's okay, you contributed to his record sales. Dumbass...

knowing the name of chris brown's judge is some intense stannery, jesus
one of these days someone is gonna have to write a piece about "hating" in rap/r&b circles

hey remember when you could hate a guy's style or lack of talent or general vapidity or wrongheaded obsessions or character flaws or sins and not be met with "why you hating"?why am i hating? i am hating because i hate you and what you represent. the suggestion that i am envious and am venting by spouting sour grape on you is fucking crazyi just hate you and your actions and what you do

naw, for real i would like to read that because that whole line of defense is stupid and frustrating and needs to be deconstructed
― The Reverend, Saturday, 18 December 2010 04:50 (fifteen years ago)
dude no, lol
i mean i don't want to get too in-my-world-of-young-ppl here but the "hating" thing is not a measured "line of defense" meant for serious discussions and obv not specific to r&b/rap circles - it's just a "thing young ppl say" irl. if at some point respected critics start to employ "hating" as a serious debate tactic then that's one thing; i'm not so sure the world needs a takedown of a colloquialism used by anonymous internet r&b fans at this point.
i respect matos as a writer of course but he tried this sort of thing about a year ago i think and after reading that my reaction was like "lol, have you ever talked to anyone under 30?"
― k3vin k., Saturday, 18 December 2010 05:49 (fifteen years ago)
this shit is so bizarre
Steezdoll_nena 8 hours agoand Chris does not seek pity, the only person that does that is Rihanna that has to mention the incident whenever she tries to see an album or concert tickets. Chris is doing GREAT with NO PROMO. Deuces is off a mixtape and was number 1 on urban charts for 10 weeks and still gets tons of airplay. Rihanna pretty much had to cancel her US tour because no one wants to see her shitty ass performances, while you put Chris in a lineup and the concert sells out in a week or 2. he has 3 grammy nominations for his own songs while the only way Rihanna is will ever be nominated is on someone else's song. whoever wrote this shit is a truly bitter person, get a life, go to church, it is a sin to not forgive, and its worse that you can't forgive someone you don't even know. like seriously how can you harbor so much hate towards someone you don't even know who is correcting his life & doing a damn good job at it? please go seek help, you need Jesus
