Just been to Fluxblog and Matthew is now the second ILM'er to admit he owns and likes that Twitch track.

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Monday, 13 September 2004 13:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Our Twitch?

Alba (Alba), Monday, 13 September 2004 14:02 (twenty-one years ago)

"The first half of this is great - just hearing the into ratcheted up my anticipation levels. Not so sure about the second half yet."

I'm with matt here; first half is great, second is kinda bland. Too much royksopp-like, maybe?

fernando, Monday, 13 September 2004 14:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Maybe it is not the best album ever in fact but I think it is almost certainly going to be the best of whichever year it ends up being released in and it is still a thing of immaculate shivery-tickings. Kiss Me is orchestrated frostbite and suddenly AS IF BY MAGIC it is on soulseek, as are the Mylo/Headman-centric contents of CD2 also.

(I hope everyone is remembering to buy the Go! Team album today too)

Alex in Doncaster (Alex in Doncaster), Monday, 13 September 2004 14:14 (twenty-one years ago)

Orchestrated frostbite - yum! I hate buying singles on multiple formats, though.

Alba (Alba), Monday, 13 September 2004 14:18 (twenty-one years ago)

I have no idea if it's our Twitch*.

*Thanks for making me have to write that, you bastard!

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Monday, 13 September 2004 14:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Don't drag The Go! Team into this, they are not worthy.

JoB (JoB), Monday, 13 September 2004 14:28 (twenty-one years ago)

From what I understand, that Twitch is not Optimo/Stirmonster Twitch.

Matthew Perpetua (Matthew Perpetua), Monday, 13 September 2004 15:33 (twenty-one years ago)

Yay, an electro-disco FITE

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Monday, 13 September 2004 15:43 (twenty-one years ago)

I shall give this rival Twitch a listen.

Alba (Alba), Monday, 13 September 2004 16:01 (twenty-one years ago)

"Kiss Me" is awesome, it feels like a scene from a movie - the warmest love scene ever in the middle of swirling arctic wind. I only bought that format (along with the Girls Aloud single), so if any kind person would like to gmail me the Mylo and Headman mixes that would be lovely!

The Lex (The Lex), Monday, 13 September 2004 17:33 (twenty-one years ago)

I can probably do that, check your mail in a few minutes!

Ronan (Ronan), Monday, 13 September 2004 17:48 (twenty-one years ago)

paging fun haters.

cºzen (Cozen), Monday, 13 September 2004 18:08 (twenty-one years ago)

gmail seems to be on the blink a bit but I'm sure it'll go through at some point.

Ronan (Ronan), Monday, 13 September 2004 19:31 (twenty-one years ago)

"Me Plus One" = "(Keep Feeling) Fascination"

Mark (MarkR), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 02:47 (twenty-one years ago)

i've got the first 3 annie 7"s plus the original red vinyl Telle 12"...had been a huge fan of Erot's productions and got The Greatest Hit 7" because he had produced it. Fell in love immediatly...i am dying to get this new album. what's the US release schedule?

biz, Tuesday, 14 September 2004 05:59 (twenty-one years ago)

When were her previous singles released? I know 'The Greatest Hit' was 1999, but after that?

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 07:21 (twenty-one years ago)

Hang on - where did 'Heartbeat' first appear on then?

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 09:29 (twenty-one years ago)

Are we talking Mint Music Twitch?

Tag (Tag), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 09:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Yeah, the Twitch from Mint Music.

Matthew Perpetua (Matthew Perpetua), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 10:37 (twenty-one years ago)

October 4 - mark in your diary - Annie plays at Trash.

marianna lcl, Tuesday, 14 September 2004 11:04 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't know anything whatsover about the Mint Music Twitch, beyond "Chup this up" being ace. Perhaps someone could enlighten me.

Tag (Tag), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 11:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Whoa, wait - this Trash? Or another place, somewhere else?

Matthew Perpetua (Matthew Perpetua), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 11:12 (twenty-one years ago)

This place, Matthew.

Who will answer my 'Heartbeat' question?

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 11:13 (twenty-one years ago)

The midweeks... are not encouraging. However, looking at the rest of them, I'm really quite happy that Lex is doing the rundown this week...

William Bloody Swygart (mrswygart), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 11:38 (twenty-one years ago)

OK, I'm getting the impression that 'Heartbeat' has never been officially released, despite floating around for ages. Is that right?

Alba (Alba), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 11:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Is No Easy Love a cover? It sounds familiar...

JoB (JoB), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 12:13 (twenty-one years ago)

"Me Plus One" = "(Keep Feeling) Fascination"

thought that straight away too. nothing else to add to this thread really now that i'm finally hearing the album, except

sjrhfguiowsfjoajksnfoajnfojencvjuohcouuzufuawuoerhuwehdygdtsfdgdfgdgfhsdgfgsfgdsdhhfjewrgjlnmsndjnlsj!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!&*(46976756376937684977265165211111111111111111112!"!!!!!!!!!

the neurotic awakening of s (blueski), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 13:16 (twenty-one years ago)

Mark's right about 'Keep Feeling Fascination,' the vocal melody in the verses is just way too similar, but who cares am I joining in the love and effusive praise for Annie. The rhythm on "Happy Without You" is fun.

Dare, Tuesday, 14 September 2004 13:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Expo.

Dare, Tuesday, 14 September 2004 13:22 (twenty-one years ago)

Ah! You're right, it does remind me of "Fascination" a bit.

Matthew Perpetua (Matthew Perpetua), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 13:30 (twenty-one years ago)

Also - the guitar bit on 'Me+1' sounds like it might have been sampled from Orange Juice's 'Rip it Up'. (Or Haircut 100 - the title might be a tip of the hat to 'Love+1'?)

Jerry the Nipper (Jerrynipper), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 13:35 (twenty-one years ago)

'No Easy Love' IS a cover but who by i just can't for the life of me recall

the neurotic awakening of s (blueski), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 13:35 (twenty-one years ago)

'Me Plus One' is an RX-Hannah Robinson penned production too.

PS I envy all of you.

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 13:39 (twenty-one years ago)

Steve, maybe you could forego that dance disc for an Anniemal plus previous releases disc instead.

B.A.R.M.S. (Barima), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 13:40 (twenty-one years ago)

"No Easy Love" sounds like something by Trembling Blue Stars

the todster (the todster), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 15:15 (twenty-one years ago)

i thought 'no easy love' is just very similar to something else though can't recall what. google-age turns up no other song with that title. it's really been bugging me though. it recalls a love unlimited tune i think (scratches head).

piscesboy, Tuesday, 14 September 2004 15:34 (twenty-one years ago)

Ronan - I haven't got those remixes yet. No hurry though! Gmail can be as shit as Hotmail sometimes.

The Lex (The Lex), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 15:52 (twenty-one years ago)

can i make a request for those too?

the neurotic awakening of s (blueski), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 15:53 (twenty-one years ago)

(this is only vaguely Annie-related but when I try to send mp3s via gmail it tells me that the document I am sending contains no data. What Am I Doing Wrong? Annie remixes totally up for grabs to anyone who can help)

Alex in Doncaster (Alex in Doncaster), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 15:57 (twenty-one years ago)

I find I can only ever send one, maybe two mp3s at any one time. but it doesn't tell me stuff about no data, it just sits there vacantly and refuses to send.

The Lex (The Lex), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 16:04 (twenty-one years ago)

It is very much doing this too. If I bung it all in a zip file it does the same thing. THIS IS NOT VERY REVOLUTIONARY, GMAIL

Alex in Doncaster (Alex in Doncaster), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 16:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Neither me nor my elderly, cantankerous computer can cope with zip files...

The Lex (The Lex), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 16:10 (twenty-one years ago)

i'm having no problems sending or receiving mp3 via gmail

the neurotic awakening of s (blueski), Tuesday, 14 September 2004 16:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Heartbeat was (i think) originally released as "I Will Get On" on Telle 7". I have this 7" with foldout poster featuring the original version and a superb Doc L Junior Mix. Both versions are excellent. The discogs posting for this single says it contains elements of Heartbeat. I also have her collaboration with some bizarre male vocalist. Not her best effort but another piece of the story. I also have two copies of the Erot 12" on Discfunction titled Two Songs for Annie. Interestingly, neither feature Annie's voice but one samples that Pop Will Eat Itself song that goes "We Like The Music, We Like The Disco Sound". I'm dying to share my Annie collection for a copy of Anniemal. I have most everything encoded from original vinyl to trade. BTW, i have ordered both UK CD Singles and the 7" of Chewing Gum so i'm not STEALING MUSIC (as Mr. James Barth would say!)

Long Live Bergen, Norway!!!

biznotic, Wednesday, 15 September 2004 01:32 (twenty-one years ago)

Anyone on Slsk with Anniemal would let you leech till you die if you let 'em download those, I'd wager.

edward o (edwardo), Wednesday, 15 September 2004 01:55 (twenty-one years ago)

not on SLSK unfortunately.

biznotic, Wednesday, 15 September 2004 03:39 (twenty-one years ago)

GET ON IT!
