home alone 2 is on cartoon network

balls is all right, I mean let's face it if he posted all the time and did the "fuck all you dumbshits" thing it'd be lovable irascible old balls up to his old tricks again but since he only swoops in every now and then to say "you guys suck" it comes off real caustic-like. if he's working biochem I assume he'll live +/- four blocks from my house within the next year or two so it's all cool

am assuming he's only here tonight to work out some residual rage about the arkansas/uGA score tho who knows, maybe he roots for tech

xpost

shit's not even a cartoon

kenanpolaris (Whiney G. Weingarten), Sunday, 19 September 2010 01:15 (fifteen years ago)

balls I think you shoulda beta tested your new persona prior to rolling it out. Just saying, measure twice, cut once.

turn in yer badge (San Te), Sunday, 19 September 2010 01:16 (fifteen years ago)

that was a pretty shitty game

J0rdan S., Sunday, 19 September 2010 01:19 (fifteen years ago)

the crimson tide rolled thru my town today and basically beat the shit out of everybody but no-one was surprised

aerosmith: live at gunpoint (underrated aerosmith albums I have loved), Sunday, 19 September 2010 01:21 (fifteen years ago)

yeah that was a total bloodbath

J0rdan S., Sunday, 19 September 2010 01:23 (fifteen years ago)

man, my Saturday night fucking sucks

kenanpolaris (Whiney G. Weingarten), Sunday, 19 September 2010 01:27 (fifteen years ago)

crut's the tech dude! some rage expressed towards dormrats/bloggers here may be due to former coworkers now living 4 blocks from mama kin leaving me the only chump who can handle certain protocols and eventually train new ppl but frankly taking a wait and see attitude there. also coming to grips w/ maybe in some sick way preferring 15-18 hour work days, needing it, and days off to 'decompress' or some shit, take time off before emd comes in, leaving me so fucking bored by day two i'm watching sports clip packages and dicking around on ilx even though i don't even know who most of these ppl are and when they're as boring and lacking in ideas or wit or energy as jordan s or 'san te' frankly no offense i am never going to have enough time for that to happen, i am never going to have a fucking clue who either of you are, you're ann veal to me. i would have to take a month off and really try to tackle it, but really i'd sooner take up gaming or something. maybe take up golf or some shit. take up gardening. i don't know. say this much for cmj - dude makes an impression, dude likes to laff, lives to love. anyhow the diary should've won, as should've uga really though that's more some anti-petrino shit there than any dawg love.

balls, Sunday, 19 September 2010 01:33 (fifteen years ago)

i love balls

synth pattern boldness (The Brainwasher), Sunday, 19 September 2010 01:43 (fifteen years ago)

Balls and My Word (2003)

balls is clearly upset that this received no votes

☞ ☹ (markers), Sunday, 19 September 2010 02:37 (fifteen years ago)

tbh the back n forth zings were enjoyable to watch -- whiney u should have gotten into the spirit of it like jordan did. it was like tennis

if you can put a ceiling fan in your van (deej), Sunday, 19 September 2010 03:10 (fifteen years ago)

i didn't vote for the top 2 -- though they are excellent and i totally respect the choices.

Carmine Dirtnap Returns!! (Eisbaer), Sunday, 19 September 2010 04:06 (fifteen years ago)

*smh at all of this*

flaccid house (The Reverend), Sunday, 19 September 2010 05:47 (fifteen years ago)

what percentage of threads that involve both whiney & deej DON'T end up like this?

J0rdan S., Sunday, 19 September 2010 06:01 (fifteen years ago)

it's tiresome tiresome tiresome, dude

flaccid house (The Reverend), Sunday, 19 September 2010 06:05 (fifteen years ago)

tiresome dude

flaccid house (The Reverend), Sunday, 19 September 2010 06:06 (fifteen years ago)

I think Scarface's voice is at its most powerful on Diary -- whereas on the other albums, including The Fix, he often went for a gruff, more aggressive tone, he delivers so much of this album in a booming, smooth baritone...giving the feel of a veteran of the streets who has seen it all and is telling his stories to the younger street generation. It's almost like sage Scarface.

turn in yer badge (San Te), Sunday, 19 September 2010 12:30 (fifteen years ago)

it is kinda weird to see san te acting like some O.G. to balls IMO

rawkan the chief (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Sunday, 19 September 2010 13:35 (fifteen years ago)

mostly just because it occurs to me that maybe i've stayed too long? like weirdly i still think of myself as not like a hardcore ilxor, but then jeez it's been forever having these same conversations over and over

rawkan the chief (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Sunday, 19 September 2010 13:47 (fifteen years ago)

well I technically have posted here since 2004, although I'll never reveal what my earliest incarnation was, mostly because of how horrible it was.

turn in yer badge (San Te), Sunday, 19 September 2010 13:54 (fifteen years ago)

dude there is not one ilxor whose earliest incarnation wasn't up on some ultra-corny herbism. you should tell us who you were so we can go "I remember that dude!"

aerosmith: live at gunpoint (underrated aerosmith albums I have loved), Sunday, 19 September 2010 13:57 (fifteen years ago)

if you're C@lum tho I will freak out

aerosmith: live at gunpoint (underrated aerosmith albums I have loved), Sunday, 19 September 2010 13:58 (fifteen years ago)

ok. remember a guy named "uh" who created a troll thread called "rap must be extinguished" under the pseudonym "trevapina"?

turn in yer badge (San Te), Sunday, 19 September 2010 14:00 (fifteen years ago)

yes I do! imo you have grown into a valued poster

aerosmith: live at gunpoint (underrated aerosmith albums I have loved), Sunday, 19 September 2010 14:01 (fifteen years ago)

unlike yr humble correspondent by whose mood swings dudes can set their damn watches

aerosmith: live at gunpoint (underrated aerosmith albums I have loved), Sunday, 19 September 2010 14:02 (fifteen years ago)

lol! thanks. yea, that was me, in my "all commercial m00ziks is shit" phase. I reread a lot of those posts a fewm onths ago and couldn't believe what a dick I was at that point in my life, but ya know I was a very diff person then!

turn in yer badge (San Te), Sunday, 19 September 2010 14:02 (fifteen years ago)

crazy i think i remember that! anyway like no offense meant san te, you are nice to have around, i was mostly just having a weird fucking moment of internet vertigo

rawkan the chief (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Sunday, 19 September 2010 14:23 (fifteen years ago)

oh none taken!

turn in yer badge (San Te), Sunday, 19 September 2010 14:30 (fifteen years ago)

i'm glad balls is back. but the whole "can't believe i am talking to nu ilx guys, i don't even know who you are" is beyond lame. If you're reading and posting to the board, you are part of it in its current incarnation. and if you're bemoaning how it was better back in the day, you are basically admitting that why it was good had nothing to do with you b/c you are still here.

bnw, Sunday, 19 September 2010 14:44 (fifteen years ago)

haha best part was where he knew aerosmith's life story even tho he'd been off the board for a while. you know he was still keeping up on his reading at least

france bans luriqua (k3vin k.), Sunday, 19 September 2010 15:14 (fifteen years ago)

no one actually quits ilx -- you can't

☞ ☹ (markers), Sunday, 19 September 2010 15:41 (fifteen years ago)

that's for sure. I definitely read it a lot during my "timeout" periods.

turn in yer badge (San Te), Sunday, 19 September 2010 16:22 (fifteen years ago)

listening to 'emeritus' it goes harder than i remember

i feed these skreets (tpp), Sunday, 19 September 2010 16:28 (fifteen years ago)

title track goes in so hard it came out the other side

i feed these skreets (tpp), Sunday, 19 September 2010 16:29 (fifteen years ago)

what does it sound like compared to Made? about the same?

turn in yer badge (San Te), Sunday, 19 September 2010 16:30 (fifteen years ago)

tbh i can't remember much of made beyond 'girl you know' (BANGER) but yeah i imagine it's similar.

i feed these skreets (tpp), Sunday, 19 September 2010 16:33 (fifteen years ago)

Scarface is just one of those artists (much like UGK) that just dutifully put out quality album after quality album -- not all classics, but all top notch.

turn in yer badge (San Te), Sunday, 19 September 2010 16:37 (fifteen years ago)

"dutifully"

samosa gibreel, Sunday, 19 September 2010 16:39 (fifteen years ago)

actually sometimes i wonder if rappers who have been around for ever would rather just relax & sleep in late & play xbox

samosa gibreel, Sunday, 19 September 2010 16:40 (fifteen years ago)

did any other rapper manage the transition from the 90s to the 00's so well? probably helps that, like you said upthread a bit, he has always positioned himself as this veteran reflecting on street life. in some respects he's been making "old map rap" his entire career. xxp

i feed these skreets (tpp), Sunday, 19 September 2010 16:42 (fifteen years ago)

not sure if artistically but jay didn't really become a superstar until the 00s....

also, e-40 has done good, quik, sean price, prodigy (to an extent)

rawkan the chief (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Sunday, 19 September 2010 16:46 (fifteen years ago)

mf doom, kinda?

rawkan the chief (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Sunday, 19 September 2010 16:46 (fifteen years ago)

there's probably an argument to be made for outkast but actually their 00's output kinda sucked

i feed these skreets (tpp), Sunday, 19 September 2010 16:49 (fifteen years ago)

I know you didn't just say that about Stankonia.

turn in yer badge (San Te), Sunday, 19 September 2010 16:50 (fifteen years ago)

stankonia is brilliant but that's turn of the decade and then..........

i feed these skreets (tpp), Sunday, 19 September 2010 16:51 (fifteen years ago)

truth be told I like Idlewild.

turn in yer badge (San Te), Sunday, 19 September 2010 16:52 (fifteen years ago)

truth be told I wanna rhyme like Common Sense.
