J0rdan S., Sunday, 5 September 2010 21:41 (fifteen years ago)

it's a good song but idk if it had to be on 3 straight releases

"dollar sign" knocks

max skim (k3vin k.), Sunday, 5 September 2010 21:42 (fifteen years ago)

the embrace of waka flocka is v pertinent (deej), Sunday, 5 September 2010 21:43 (fifteen years ago)

it was actually one of my fave tracks on there, don't know if it was due to familiarity or what

but there's a stretch of like 5 tracks or so in the middle that's kind of lame, worst of which is this song with Nicki Minaj called "Haterade" produced by Pharrel >_<, also that song with Ray-J is on the album too

suckin deez in belize (The Brainwasher), Sunday, 5 September 2010 21:43 (fifteen years ago)

of course

max skim (k3vin k.), Sunday, 5 September 2010 21:44 (fifteen years ago)

if brainwasher thinks that the minaj track is the worse than there's prob no hope for the rest of us

J0rdan S., Sunday, 5 September 2010 21:47 (fifteen years ago)

'makin love to the money' is still boring to me
what do u like about it??

the embrace of waka flocka is v pertinent (deej), Sunday, 5 September 2010 21:50 (fifteen years ago)

i dunno I just like the hook ("I fuck her everydaaaaaaayyyyyyy"), and I think gucci manages to keep the "money is my bitch" metaphor interesting even tho it's totally overused

suckin deez in belize (The Brainwasher), Sunday, 5 September 2010 21:53 (fifteen years ago)

the video def gave me a larger appreciation

the embrace of waka flocka is v pertinent (deej), Sunday, 5 September 2010 21:55 (fifteen years ago)

the embrace of waka flocka is v pertinent (deej), Sunday, 5 September 2010 22:02 (fifteen years ago)

i like making love to the money too. although i skip it on jewelry selection and can't imagine not skipping it on the album

this new one is great tho, for sure

Jacques_Lamure, Sunday, 5 September 2010 22:48 (fifteen years ago)

every verse my flow get stupider
my producers don't want to produce for ya

Jacques_Lamure, Monday, 6 September 2010 00:58 (fifteen years ago)

weird tho, this doesn't really feel like an album cut

Jacques_Lamure, Monday, 6 September 2010 01:01 (fifteen years ago)

i don't love "making love to the money" as a piece of music but it's really funny and smart esp when compared to some garbage like "women lie men lie"

i saw momus kissing san te claus (samosa gibreel), Monday, 6 September 2010 01:57 (fifteen years ago)

had a huge change of heart listening to mr zone 6 last night. i had liked it a lot at first but grew a bit bored of it & started to find and now i am pretty convinced that

this might be the best rap album of the past 3-5 years

and thus the best gucci tape. i feel deej's point abt "lyrical density at the expense of the colorful songwriting and stylistic affects" but when every verse is so sophisticated and well-constructed, it lends a lot more to total songcraft effect than imo. not to mention switching up flows every verse. and he doesn't have a bad verse on the whole album. at first i felt like it was lacking production-wise, but now that i've reached a certain saturation point of familiarity with them & the tape as a whole i realize they're just big growers.

it's true this is pretty much the antithesis of like zone 6 to duvall or the movie pt 1, and maybe the album will balance things out better. but the sacrifice was well worth it imo

i saw momus kissing san te claus (samosa gibreel), Tuesday, 7 September 2010 16:51 (fifteen years ago)

* started to find it a bit dry but

** total songcraft effect imo

i saw momus kissing san te claus (samosa gibreel), Tuesday, 7 September 2010 16:53 (fifteen years ago)

every verse on mr zone 6 is good, but there aren't that many that are great, i don't think.

the "my shoes come from the zoo / my 'caine come from peru" one on rooftop and "trap house just like morehouse" one on cowards and soldiers come to mind, but verse to verse and song to song i think it's his least memorable tape in the last year or two. in terms of flow it was very rigorous and impressive but in terms of vocabulary and wordplay it seemed pretty bland, i always thought.

dunno, just doesn't have many songs i find myself revisiting that often, compared to everything else before and after it which i revisit and rediscover again and again

i feed these skreets (tpp), Wednesday, 8 September 2010 20:59 (fifteen years ago)

it indeed does look lame, but oh well

if 'ferrari music' is as good as 'mr. zone 6' & 'jewelery selection' then i'll take the 6 or so good tracks off this & dip

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 8 September 2010 21:31 (fifteen years ago)

i wish the opening track was instead "Bun Friend" (ft. Lil B)

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 8 September 2010 21:32 (fifteen years ago)

i guess this "party animal" is a different "party animal" than the one that was on one of those 'cold war' tapes
