I didn't mean to undersell it so badly, it really is pretty and unique. But by no means would it belong anywhere near a dancefloor.

The other element which I forgot about when I originally described it is that it has these very echo-y field recording style samples that almost sound like they were taped in a locker room or a warehouse or something.

It's all very spare. Even though it sounds nothing like it, it reminded me of that Pantha du Prince song with Panda Bear singing on it.

Ugh when is it going to leak?? DFA took the album stream down a while back for some reason.

the Shit Robot leaked many moons ago. there are only a couple good songs on it. the best on is the song Nancy sings on. someone please give her a solo LP on dfa. she deserves it.

I show it added to iTunes on July 20 so it must have leaked a day or so before then.

maybe it was a rip of the stream. it's not in the usual places so it's probably 160 kbps or something. I loved it while streaming at work but who knows.

The version i have is 320. Agree on the need for a Nancy solo album. You could get an all-star cast of DFA producers on there.

Ended up disliking the SR album after a few plays. The tracks where he does the vocals are seriously, seriously dull.

I think it's comfortably one of the best albums of the year. Simple Things especially is a beast. The only track I'm not fond of is "Losing my Patience" with Alexis Taylor. Outclasses the LCD album in my opinion.

As I think about it more and more, the Peter Gordon 12 is growing closer to my favourite 12" released this year. Don't Don't is, at moment, just sublime, just immense.

i'm liking this new shit robot quite a bit upon first listen, guess we'll see if it holds up after a few more but i already know and love "simple things" and "i got a feeling" so i suppose that's a good omen

ha, seems odd but i already found a digital copy and i really dig the entire ame remix. comparing it to the original kinda doesn't make sense though, they aim for such different things. both are great

yes. "beautiful dreamer' is definitely a bit more of an acquired taste.

nearly wet myself when i realised the colette tracks were on the reissue. I was always of the opinion beautiful dreamer was the anthem, i imagine when i finally play it out on friday everyone will go bed

Anyone picked up the twentyten collection? I've not heard most of it, though I'm sure many of you lot have. It's pretty cheap though, and I feel flush.

i think yacht are crap and haven't heard the PDS track but the rest is v worthy. surprised by how much i love the justine track

think I read somewhere that the new HG! track was prod by Goldsworthy? winder if the whole album has been in the tank that long

it's been done done for well over six months now, probably much longer for all i know

just saw that album out 5th april ..

TG's been gone from NY since 2009 IIRC? I s'pose he could have worked on it long-distance or on visits, but HG! are such intense gear-nerds that you'd think they'd be working more hands-on with a producer. idk, idle speculation anyway
