i did! i think me and deej listen for different stuff in rap music, but we're both voracious listeners so our taste def overlaps in some parts—Young Dro, Quik & Kurupt, E-40

for what it's worth i find 'on to the next one' about 1000x more exciting than 'gucci time'

though most of that has to do with the video, i guess

gucci time is great and fun to dance to when walking home wasted

& yeah that swizz verse is criminal

especially how exciting the begginging of every gucci verse is coming off the energy of that chorus--crushing reality of the impending necessity of skipping to the next song

i feel sorta not-mad-at-it even tho the beat bothers me -- its not good but for some reason it sorta floats by as just 'ok' -- but im into hating on average bs lately so

i like how this song is real up-beat, kinda urgent like. a lot of mz6 was mid-tempo and a big of a slog and i'm always wishing for these kinds of tracks

i mean, i've well established that i don't like chord-change rap as much as rap without chord changes. The whole post-Chronic aesthetic has def made rap songs lusher and more like actual songs. That super repetitive, record-skipping sound that Swizzy does these days on "Gucci Time" and "On To The Next One" is more like the future-fucked version of the old school stuff I grew up on

i dunno I just like the hook ("I fuck her everydaaaaaaayyyyyyy"), and I think gucci manages to keep the "money is my bitch" metaphor interesting even tho it's totally overused
