said it on ILE already, but the best part of Takers is when Chris Brown gets plugged

funky brewster (San Te), Monday, 30 August 2010 03:12 (fifteen years ago)

how did no one mention THAT THE ONE DUDE IN THIS SONG MAKES A MENTION TO A DOMESTIC VIOLENCE INCIDENT BETWEEN TWO MEGA-FAMOUS BLACK POP STARS THAT HAPPENED IN A VEHICLE

J0rdan S., Monday, 6 September 2010 18:24 (fifteen years ago)

i seriously almost drove off the road

lol believe me knowing that little trinket won't do anythin to spoil the movie, the movie itself will probably do more to do that. I liked it but there's some dumb stuff in it.

funky brewster (San Te), Monday, 6 September 2010 18:55 (fifteen years ago)

Yeah, I'll be going in with low expectations, but L.A. crime thrillers are like McNuggets to me.

haha holy shit, never noticed that because i usually change the station and/or black out in a rage when Tyga says "valentimes"

some dude, Monday, 6 September 2010 22:16 (fifteen years ago)

hahah

J0rdan S., Monday, 6 September 2010 22:17 (fifteen years ago)

Gulab jamun (Gulab Jamun) into the syrup please. (forksclovetofu), Monday, 6 September 2010 22:40 (fifteen years ago)

i might be angrier about Tyga having a career in 2010 than i am about Chris Brown having a career in 2010

some dude, Tuesday, 7 September 2010 00:25 (fifteen years ago)

i want to go back in time to 2008 and warn a younger, overly confident me that i shouldn't be so sure we've seen the last of the guy from Gym Class Heroes and his little cousin

some dude, Tuesday, 7 September 2010 00:28 (fifteen years ago)

hahahah

J0rdan S., Tuesday, 7 September 2010 00:29 (fifteen years ago)

don't forget to invest heavy in apple, short BP and kill glenn beck while you're at it

Gulab jamun (Gulab Jamun) into the syrup please. (forksclovetofu), Tuesday, 7 September 2010 03:06 (fifteen years ago)

might wanna drop a call to CB as well and have him get some anger management

Gulab jamun (Gulab Jamun) into the syrup please. (forksclovetofu), Tuesday, 7 September 2010 03:07 (fifteen years ago)

i don't think i ever payed much attention to the production on "forever" until it came on just now, and damn, i know i hated on it when it came out, i mean the tune is still kinda dippy and it's certainly not if cb has lost any of his offputting d-baggy quality since this dropped, but damn, this song is kind of brilliant?

rock n roll individual (The Reverend), Wednesday, 8 September 2010 08:56 (fifteen years ago)

it's amazing

J0rdan S., Wednesday, 8 September 2010 08:57 (fifteen years ago)

i think my main problem with it is it sounds just a bit too prom-ready. it has the same kind of ersatz score-the-moment quality that "i gotta feeling" and "empire state of mind" have. all of those songs are simultaneously brilliant and terrible.

rock n roll individual (The Reverend), Wednesday, 8 September 2010 09:04 (fifteen years ago)

yeah I came around to "Forever" after like a year too, still things I dislike about it but it definitely is one of the really good beats Polow's done since his output started to decline

some dude, Wednesday, 8 September 2010 14:26 (fifteen years ago)

"Forever" is decent enough; I don't hate it but I don't love it (partially because Ne-Yo's "Closer" is much more my platonic ideal when it comes to R&B house)

STOP DREAMING ABOUT HORSES, THIS IS REAL LIFE (HI DERE), Wednesday, 8 September 2010 14:29 (fifteen years ago)

oh for certain

They should've given his character some chance to show off his parkour skills before he pulls them out of nowhere.

Olde Executioner 8hundo (Eazy), Friday, 10 September 2010 15:25 (fifteen years ago)

I mean, they have that fancy little club; all they needed to do was have Chris Brown go from the VIP floor to the ground floor by, like, sliding down the banister and doing a little flip.

Olde Executioner 8hundo (Eazy), Friday, 10 September 2010 16:16 (fifteen years ago)

am i the only one kinda weirded out by how the thing that's been on the radio in the past year that "deuces" sounds most like is "rude boy"?

The Reverend, Wednesday, 15 September 2010 04:25 (fifteen years ago)

indeed.

(with the possible exception of tip's verse, which is nothing special but at least not outright embarrassing like some of the others)

big ups to jay-z for actually trying to end this dude's career instead of resucitate it

you are surprised that ILM would rather spend more time talking about an annoying, ignorable white dude than any black dude?

k3vin k., Saturday, 2 October 2010 15:58 (fifteen years ago)

lol my scoring average has been pretty low as of late but my curmudgeonly criticism never seems to have anything to do with anything else going on w/ me -- plus i write about 5 singles i love every month but only 1 or 2 out of those 5 tend to get covered on Jukebox too
