maybe im projecting a bit of my feelings onto others here but my impression, lex, is that other than jordan who thinks its one of his best, most ppl around here think mr. zone 6 while nothing close to a fall-off isn't quite as dynamic as some of his other stuff? at least thats why i think

that's pretty much what i think too, the thread when it leaked seemed super-enthusiastic though. it just didn't make me go back to it much.

To be totally real, we are still downloading this tape as we type because we felt compelled to discuss Gucci’s new South Park Kenny/Gucci eskimo/igloo chain combination featured on the cover. For some reason this chain is news to us, though it’s been featured on the internet in video form for over a month. It’s magnificence is noteworthy. The tape itself is a relatively brief collection of recent Gucci jams—”Makin Love to the Money,” “Gucci Time” etc—in case you prefer them all in one place with dudes yelling in between.

i was trying to catch up on his 08 tapes last year, but then he released so much stuff. now would be a good time, though, i've still got zone 6 to duvall and gucci sosa on my hard drive somewheres. i like writing on the wall a lot but the album version of wasted is way better. despite all the great shit he's released since then i think my favourite gucci mane release is back to the traphouse

i wonder at what point his output becomes worth checking, given how a lot of the earlier stuff is basically unlistenable

unlistenable is a pretty big overstatement, and in light of what came later a lot of that stuff looks better now than it did at the time ... there are flashes of what he would become thruout ('higher than giraffe pussy')

the main issue I have with Back to the Trap House is the production is good, but I prefer the murkier dark synth beats he did on his mixtapes and TSVRD.

eh...it's 22 songs, one of which is an intro, two of which are "gucci speaks", two are "freestyle"; i mean a few toward the end aren't all that but it's a pretty consistent tape i think. in any event it's not dragged down by its filler/r&b nonsense like burrprint or svrd is

ha, i think of bp3d as being too weighed down by filler on the back end.

i admit to not liking the Usher track on SVRD, but his verses overcome the corny r&b on the rest.
