Came onto this thread again to post Urban Jungle's "Back In The Daze" but, of course, r|t|c had already gotten there. Lovely track.
Here's Chuck E's "Smokin A Blunt" instead:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MyCAiK3QObk
Also what's that tune that goes "You're my heat / I'm a fire / You're on my mind / I can't deny you / Don't you hear / Me talking baby / Love me now or I'LL GO CRAZY!!!"
It's on Grooverider's Hardstep Selection II but the tracklist for that is screwed and it doesn't seem to match anything purportedly on there.
Kinda inspired by discussions on the Smith & Mighty and UK Funky threads i'd been making a mix of stuff for a friend of mine which is all like:
Fresh 4 - Wishing On A StarBeats International - Dub Be Good To Me (Smith & Mighty Remix)88.3 - Wishing On A Star (Urban Takeover Mix)Urban Jungle - Back In The DazeSharon Forrester - Love InsideSteve Gurley - Walk On ByDinamyte - Dynamite (Dancing Queen)DJ Naughty - Love LockdownNaughty Raver - Tease Me (After Dark Remix)

That's so weird! I have Renegade Selector 2 but never noticed the tune on there... Or at least had totally forgotten it was on there.

I'm a total babe in the woods about this stuff, just enjoy hearing some of it sometimes, but wow wow wow @ "ribbon in the sky"

sorry i totally forgot about this thread! thanks for the badderman selections guys. haha i LOVE the gentlemanly patriarch producer courtesy that discreetly renames adina howard's lusty "it's all about the dog in me" sample to 'dawn in may'. and on a ruffian jungle mix of all things.
yeah tim has correctly deduced the old proto-funky/reggae logic lark still vaguely sloshing around in my mind. (that tape seems clearer and a lot more precise than what i'd have come up with.)
posting that dj gunshot for thread posterity's sake:

never knew no u turn had ever made stuff like that.

um well the main sample is eddie kendricks 'intimate friends', and the idyllictronic g-funky mosquito murmur over it is just something mm & d put on themselves maybe. however if you still want a g-funk version there's this?:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VZ2DSbq76vI
which nate dogg is AWESOME on. (produced by kanye to boot.)

Yeah it wasn't until 95 or so post Trace's "Mutant Remix" that No U Turn became "All Techstep All The Time".

Thinking of doing my dance music listening thread on the four ages of lovers rock in UK dance. Help me think of a less lolwhut name than "softcore continuum" though.
It doesn't quite fit in here but I also love DJ Dextrous' "Hot Flame" with its samples of the spoken word bit from the beginning of Janet Jackson's "That's The Way Love Goes".
Radical Sound's "What Is Love (VIP Mix)" probably has enough reggae vocals to be a legitimate entrant, plus is one of my absolute favourite jungle tunes ever ever ever, will have to see if it's on youtube when I get home.

doh @ sweet sable. anything on the same comp as h-town's 'part time lover' is going to struggle for memorableness however tbf.
didnt see radical sound on the tubes but i did slsk it - good one yeah!
regarding the name game, impenetrable waffle and concise bon mots tend not to go hand in hand alas :/

This was always one of my favourite Aphrodite tunes. It has the same exact structure as every other Aphrodite track, but at least the vocals make it a bit different.

this one's not mega appropriate (though the bit when the after 7 'can't stop' and jeffree samples intertwine is so :D), i just wanted somewhere to point out how the karate dude brucks out even wickeder to the strings bit than he does the breaks

I'm not sure if this fits or not, but this thread prompted me to track down a track from an old mixtape I had:
