dudes, even though i realized early on that BM/Doom would be exceptionally well represented here, even i didn't expect this kind of an onslaught. results for me = weird but interesting.

It's what gets discussed on the rolling thread a lot. Most of these doom/bm/dm albums are in their respective canons. It's not like some obscure albums that only 3 people have heard made it.

I'm really happy with the heavy rock/stoner/doom/Sabbath-disciple segment being well-represented. Don't care much for death metal or black metal. The classic stuff is admittedly a blind spot, so it's cool to see these albums place and check them out and then finally get into some new OLD bands (Maiden, Slayer, Venom, Danzig) and, of course, confirm my dislike for others.

To think everyone was bummed about the Manics making the list

Saint Vitus at #9 is a total shock to me, and a great surprise.

Glenn just told me that Decibel had Saint Vitus - Born Too Late in their Hall Of Fame articles a wee while ago.

Born Too Late was my #44, but at least I have some kind of relationship with an album in the top 10. Was beginning to worry I wouldn't.

I ended up ranking 2112 higher because "A Passage To Bangkok" > "Closer To The Heart", but sometimes "Cygnus X-1" is my favorite thing they ever recorded.

when i got really into rush back in high school, the remasters of all their albums were priced at $9.99 at newbury comics which was like WHOA SO CHEAP at the time. so i bought them all.

so far this list has been badass as hell. the amount of upset it's causing is hilarious.

No-one talking about Paranoid but it's the most consistent Sabbath album for me, only one pointless number (Rat Salad) and I never need to hear the title track again, but the rest of it...probably their worst album cover though.

Paranoid is my least favourite of the first six Sabbath albums but it's still a great record. Just not one I listen to much.

Even though I have Paranoid on cd now, I still have the cassette configuration in my head and almost never make it past the first half. But that first half is PHENOMENAL.
