Wow, people really rooting for metal underdogs here. Cute. This is the most dated of the Manilla Road albums I've been listening to (Open The Gates and Deluge are the others). No way is this better than, say, Piece Of Mind.

Stooges are a little bit more ilx canon than the Black Album. not saying i'll die of shock if it shows up, but usually whenever the subject comes up i feel like one of the album's only defenders.

Can someone explain to me what's supposed to be good about Manila Road please?

I tried to find that out in the Listening Club and got nowhere. Best explanation was lots of cool people like it and claim it as an influence.

Seriously, they're the only band I've checked out on either poll so far that has left me scratching my head as to their appeal. Others haven't been my cup of tea, but they sound like a very cheap parody band to me.
