I think death metal doing better so far

Gotta say, as a casual but enthusiastic metal (or whatever) fan, this poll has been great, if only as a means of jogging my memory. For example, I can't think of the last time I put on Voivod, but that oversight has been remedied. I'd never heard of Witchfinder General, to be honest, so that got a listen. And even Danzig (solo) I'd never dived into, so that's in the queue! Frankly, the only stuff I'm wary of exploring is the more contemporary death/black stuff, just because I'm not a huge fan of the vox and prefer metal's proggier side. But I'll happily split the difference with something like Opeth, and even then I may one day get around to stuff like Gorguts.

Any thoughts on the list so far?

Really satisfying so far - I like seeing all the classic hard rock alongside the obscure/extreme stuff, shows how wide the field is. The list is looking good for recommendations too - I've already got a few of these cued up to listen to on Spotify. Some of my favourites have turned up far lower than I'd hoped but that's ok, there's room for everyone.

My one prediction is that all of the first seven Maiden (studio) albums will make it into the Top 100...

If anyone wants to make a spotify playlist that would be great.
