NOT FUNNY NEEDS MORE CGI (jjjusten), Saturday, 7 August 2010 23:22 (fifteen years ago)

The Young Gods were far better when they sang in French, i.e. their first 2 albums (I gave up after TV Sky so maybe they went back to French later?)

A prog venn diagram for you to think about (Matt #2), Saturday, 7 August 2010 23:22 (fifteen years ago)

to be fair i only have one young gods cd and it is awful, so i shouldnt judge them just according to that

NOT FUNNY NEEDS MORE CGI (jjjusten), Saturday, 7 August 2010 23:23 (fifteen years ago)

I found them to be a band of diminishing returns on each subsequent album. Amazing live band back in the day tho

there is good stuff here. i like plenty of stuff listed, but i LOVE, like, 14 of these albums. i counted. including the dissection and the young gods album that just popped up. 14 albums i love on any list is a good sign. probably. most lists suck.

scott seward, Sunday, 8 August 2010 00:03 (fifteen years ago)

Cheers scott! please hang around! Lotsa good stuff to come, it's a varied list.

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Sunday, 8 August 2010 00:04 (fifteen years ago)

i never actually knew anyone who listened to the screaming trees. i knew that they must be out there though. got the new album by the sad trees singer and the lady from belle & sebastian? or did i dream that? wouldn't play in my cd player though. so i didn't hear it.

scott seward, Sunday, 8 August 2010 00:05 (fifteen years ago)

I loved then pretty much as soon as i got into grunge in 91. was great trying to find their old albums in shops back then. Got em all bar clairvoyance which wasnt available (til a few years ago)

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Sunday, 8 August 2010 00:07 (fifteen years ago)

A classic album next, I didn't vote for it, but I finally got it on vinyl a year or so ago.

sort of confused what a neophyte like myself is supposed to do with such a long list. i guess when it's over, i can start with the top 10, but atm it's either "i may recognise this band name but really i don't know them" or "oh sweet some given album that i happen to be familiar with." if i'm going to listen to anything it's going to be because they have a sweet cover.

GREAT GUY: (marc iv), Sunday, 8 August 2010 01:59 (fifteen years ago)

Yes I voted for it!

Born in a test-tube; raised in a cage! (Viceroy), Sunday, 8 August 2010 02:00 (fifteen years ago)

incidentally, that is a sweet at the drive-in album that i voted for, heh heh heh.

GREAT GUY: (marc iv), Sunday, 8 August 2010 02:01 (fifteen years ago)

What kind of album covers do you like? (emil.y's got a lot to review)

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Sunday, 8 August 2010 02:03 (fifteen years ago)

i wonder if we've had enough faster stuff for chap or dog latin yet

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Sunday, 8 August 2010 02:05 (fifteen years ago)

Borknagar · The Olden Domain <-- that is a sick album cover. also all the witchfinder general album covers so far have been pretty awesome, and there were some other dnd-style ones.

is someone going to listen to every album and review it? I DON'T BELIEVE IT.

GREAT GUY: (marc iv), Sunday, 8 August 2010 02:10 (fifteen years ago)

no, just the album covers.

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Sunday, 8 August 2010 02:11 (fifteen years ago)

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Sunday, 8 August 2010 02:12 (fifteen years ago)
