More thrash and death please. Much of this is a bit slow and sludgy for me.

its not like all the voters are female mind you, i counted more than in the EOY polls, but again, i cant force males or females to vote.

I voted for a fair few women, as far as I recall (including one song which may well fall into the 'guilty pleasure' category, even though I think it is actually awesome). I suspect they're all unlikely to chart.

Will leave commenting on the stuff that's come in until tomorrow when I shall resume my youtubing. Some good tracks, though. (Also, I haven't heard that Rush song! Sorry Henry.)

I mean, no one would argue that metal is one of the most male-dominated genres of music (right up there with rap), but there's been ZERO women. Sad, sad, sad.

Again, I find it weird that anything by Monster Magnet would be one of someone's ALL TIME favorite hard rock songs...but I guess a lot of factors go into why we like what we like.

maybe because it's a song in one of my fave genres, that i was big into when it came out. Like Rush is for the over 40s and others into 80s hair metal.
Plus i guess not everyones into the canon even in metal? (tho i am)

I'm 37, but i didn't really discover non chart rock/pop til i was 18 and nirvana broke. (like a lot of people, Nirvana was a gate way to Metal and/or Indie)

I hated the late 80s hair metal fluff one of my mates was into, but thrash & death was too heavy for me. When i heard slower doomier stuff i got sucked in.

Monster Magnet was awesome at one point - truly great, and this song is part of that era.

next song is by one of my fave bands, which came from one of my other fave bands, i voted for 3 tracks by this band, but not this one , it got cut.. What the hell do I know what will place high!
