Slough Feg covered one of their songs on a recentish album. Anyone who is into them, is REALLY into them (like with Kyuss)

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Wednesday, 4 August 2010 20:09 (fifteen years ago)

I posted a manilla road lp on mordys metal listening club recently.

marc iv, Wednesday, 4 August 2010 20:30 (fifteen years ago)

On this poll xp. You're forgetting Talking Heads.

Ismael Klata, Wednesday, 4 August 2010 20:30 (fifteen years ago)

stuff I've voted for

Unsung
Children of the Grave

I expect two more from my ballot will make this, but tbf, as a metalhead I am kind of shit. Too many Fall albums!

demons a. real (Drugs A. Money), Wednesday, 4 August 2010 20:31 (fifteen years ago)

I would love it if touretee's made it...

demons a. real (Drugs A. Money), Wednesday, 4 August 2010 20:33 (fifteen years ago)

and I hand you over to Henry for the next 2, he's calmed down a bit apparently.

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Wednesday, 4 August 2010 20:35 (fifteen years ago)

Herman, with as much as you seem to love Manilla Road (and with them being a fuXing c0rny as they are) I don't want to hear one more word out of you that slights hair metal. Because nothing I've ever been a fan of is as ridiculous as Manilla Road.

Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 4 August 2010 20:37 (fifteen years ago)

or as good? ;)

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Wednesday, 4 August 2010 20:38 (fifteen years ago)

As absurd. ;)

Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 4 August 2010 20:41 (fifteen years ago)

I just got here, btw...so uh...Paradise City comes in 41 places higher than Welcome to the Jungle? What is wrong with you people? (I only voted for Sweet Child, so it's partly my fault, but c'mon!!!)

Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 4 August 2010 20:43 (fifteen years ago)

id take paradise city over wtj any day. id take its so easy over both.

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Wednesday, 4 August 2010 20:43 (fifteen years ago)

I would too re: It's So Easy, but no one nominated it.

Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 4 August 2010 20:48 (fifteen years ago)

btw a lot of rolling metal thread regulars didn't vote. So dont be surprised at any results. some false stuff will be too high, some classics will be too low, some stuff always in lists will appear, but it also means the angel witches, manilla roads and witchfinder generals get in.
Also extreme stuff will never do that well im tracks polls... or will it?
If a track is too low, dont blame those who did vote!

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Wednesday, 4 August 2010 20:48 (fifteen years ago)

I'm not a big gnr fan, i find appetite highly overrated, but 4 or 5 of its songs are 4 or 5 of the best ever.

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Wednesday, 4 August 2010 20:49 (fifteen years ago)

the rolling metal thread regulars suck a dick then!

more lunacy and witchcraft! (kkvgz), Wednesday, 4 August 2010 20:51 (fifteen years ago)

Henry can take care of them!

blame me, I voted for 4 GNR songs, "Welcome" would've been #5 if I'd made room for it and "Paradise" was the highest

some dude, Wednesday, 4 August 2010 21:00 (fifteen years ago)

I guess I'm the weird one. Even as a sprightly young metal fan in 1988, I thought Paradise City was a pile. People everywhere seem to like it a lot though, so whatever.

Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 4 August 2010 21:01 (fifteen years ago)

JF, i voted for a gnr song actually, but im not saying which album its from.

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Wednesday, 4 August 2010 21:02 (fifteen years ago)

You voted for November Rain, didn't you? DIDN'T YOU?

Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 4 August 2010 21:03 (fifteen years ago)

haha no comment

listen guys, henry/jj cant do the rollout on friday. JJ has work commitments and Henry is off to texas to bite the baws off someone.
Do you want us to get through to #31 tonight then do the rest tomorrow? No way am i leaving the top 20 to monday.
So you want it to finish tomorrow or be henry-less on friday? (i would like to just push on)
Henry has been so great I think I might give him a treat with a guest spot on the albums results.

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Wednesday, 4 August 2010 21:06 (fifteen years ago)

However you can work it out to reach #1 by Friday is fine with me.

Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 4 August 2010 21:08 (fifteen years ago)

Henry needs a bit of a break, he seems cranky. Keep on rolling.

Chicago to Philadelphia: "Suck It" (Bill Magill), Wednesday, 4 August 2010 21:09 (fifteen years ago)

OK, we will do more tonight and finish tomorrow night, that ok?
I will start albums rollout friday so you guys dont miss your fix, i'll do
250-201 friday, 200-151 saturday, 150-101 sunday. then the rest throughout the week. Works out perfectly that way.

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Wednesday, 4 August 2010 21:12 (fifteen years ago)

Henrys not around so I'll push on and he can do more tonight

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Wednesday, 4 August 2010 21:12 (fifteen years ago)

These guys seem to get a lot of respect around here but I think movie tie in songs are a very lame sell-out move.

Not to mention the 30 year sympathy grammy.

Note the time - they could only pull off half an antichrist, probably because they are old or Ozzy wandered off partway through to make some breakfast or something.

Henry Kvlt Pvp, Wednesday, 4 August 2010 21:28 (fifteen years ago)

The views expressed by Henry are not necessarily endorsed by the runners of this poll. It's like having Russell Brand show up to host an awards show, there is no predicting what you are going to get.

Henry only got cranky after he went to the vets and didn't get any steak. Someone send him a steak!

From Wikipedia: "Mustaine and Hetfield had personality conflicts. These tensions led to a fist-fight that broke out between Mustaine and Hetfield,[4] after Mustaine accused Hetfield of kicking his dog."

After which Lars probably rifled through the unconscious dogs wallet.

Henry Kvlt Pvp, Wednesday, 4 August 2010 21:37 (fifteen years ago)

lol, im dying here

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Wednesday, 4 August 2010 21:45 (fifteen years ago)

I always knew Hetfield was a putz.

not sure about that one.

Chicago to Philadelphia: "Suck It" (Bill Magill), Wednesday, 4 August 2010 22:03 (fifteen years ago)

not sure about bill magill, that track is heavy as fuck

he's always been a bit of an anti-climb Max (jon /via/ chi 2.0), Wednesday, 4 August 2010 22:05 (fifteen years ago)

Yeah, I dont think i agree with that.

Chicago to Philadelphia: "Suck It" (Bill Magill), Wednesday, 4 August 2010 22:08 (fifteen years ago)

bill "classic rock" magill doesn't think that funkadelic track is heavy enough?

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Wednesday, 4 August 2010 22:09 (fifteen years ago)

I think there is other Funkadelic (who I love, as you may know) that fits into the "Metal/Heavy Rock" category better.
