It's Bring the Noize, isn't it?

I said an Important band ;)
― pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:13 (fourteen years ago) link
Anthrax isn't important? b'gosh, why are you even running this poll? ;)

91Celtic Frost - Mexican Radio (1987) (319 Points, 10 votes)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGpdtgeZbgk
― pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:18 (fourteen years ago) link
I remember someone mentioning this in the noms thread. Time to hear it, I guess.
― Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:19 (fourteen years ago) link
Damn, thought it would be Motley Crue's "Anarchy in the UK."
― President Keyes, Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:19 (fourteen years ago) link
As a fan of the Wall of Voodoo original, and never having been a fan of Celtic Frost, this is about as bad as I imagined it might be.
― Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:21 (fourteen years ago) link
Would never have guessed this would have got that many votes.
I'm going to guess now that at least one of my top ten, and specifically my #4, will not make this run down.
― Hey Jabulani! Pope of four four two. (aldo), Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:25 (fourteen years ago) link
Celtic Frost covered a LOT of styles and influenced lots of genres(thrash/death/black/doom/avant garde metal). You cant really pigeon hole them. Cold Lake fucking sucks though.
― pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:28 (fourteen years ago) link
go on guys, post your top 10 guesses
This early? That's usually a top 20 kind of thing.
― Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:30 (fourteen years ago) link
what do you think are certs to be in the running then?
― pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:32 (fourteen years ago) link
Wow. I love Celtic Frost and I can get behind Mexican Radio too. That was pretty bad. At least it wasn't grebo, though.
― kkvgz, Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:34 (fourteen years ago) link
xp I suspect "Number of the Beast" will probably be in the top 10, but that's just a guess.

89 TIESepultura - Territory (1993) (320 Points, 10 votes)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_WHGV5bejk&feature=avmsc2
― pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:38 (fourteen years ago) link
lotsa ties! considering the points allotment, I wouldn't have expected more than one or two.
― Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:39 (fourteen years ago) link
there's 4 tracks on this point mark, but these 2 have less votes.
but It's really bizarre that they got the same points. It was the last few ballots that did it too.
― pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:41 (fourteen years ago) link
you a sepultura fan?
― pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:42 (fourteen years ago) link
Barely. They were just reaching their prime about the same time I was moving away from metal metal.
― Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:44 (fourteen years ago) link
the next track is by a band already posted.
― pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:48 (fourteen years ago) link
If it's Witchfinder General, I'll eat my shoe.
― Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:51 (fourteen years ago) link
(They're good, but I still think they were lucky to even have one track break the 100).
the song is an alltime classic
― pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:53 (fourteen years ago) link
The one coming up, or "Witchfinder General"?
― Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:54 (fourteen years ago) link
the one coming upit's from the 80s... JF's favourite decade.
― pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:55 (fourteen years ago) link
hooray!
― Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:56 (fourteen years ago) link
WHERE ARE ALL THE BRITISHES WHO SHOULD BE COMMENTING RIGHT NOW? It's not even 8am where I am, and I'm living up to my end of the bargain.
but it's not gonna be well known outside of metal circles..
― pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:57 (fourteen years ago) link
I think the country who invented it is lacking in fans, even on ILX (they were here earlier)
Quiet Riot?

89 TIECeltic Frost - I Wont Dance (1987) (320 Points, 10 votes)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OoyqxUClNW0

I am trying to keep up, and post, on a train with a piss poor signal.
― Hey Jabulani! Pope of four four two. (aldo), Tuesday, 3 August 2010 12:00 (fourteen years ago) link
Hmm, I'd have preferred another Witchfinder General track after all.
― Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 3 August 2010 12:03 (fourteen years ago) link
This is interesting. I think this means that there will be some even higher ranked CF to come. Still, that's a much better track than "Mexican Radio".
― kkvgz, Tuesday, 3 August 2010 12:06 (fourteen years ago) link
ok...next?
― Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 3 August 2010 12:14 (fourteen years ago) link
For such a highly rated band, with 10 voters, some people seem to dislike Celtic Frost. Never trust hair metal fans obviously ;)
― pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Tuesday, 3 August 2010 12:14 (fourteen years ago) link
I know I yelled loudest about hair metal, but I honestly do like other kinds of metal, etc. just as much. Celtic Frost, though...no way.

a happy johnny fever at last :)
― pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Tuesday, 3 August 2010 12:25 (fourteen years ago) link
I can honestly say I like all of these so far.
― pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Tuesday, 3 August 2010 12:26 (fourteen years ago) link
Yeah, I'm down with most of these so far. Best discovery so far = Diamond Head. I think in my mind I always confused them with King Diamond and stayed away.
― Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 3 August 2010 12:30 (fourteen years ago) link
Looking forward to listening to these youtubes ASAP, at top volume through my stereo! Only votes from me thus far: GNR, FNM and Soundgarden (odd those 2 tied).
