Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 3 August 2010 10:35 (fifteen years ago)

That's like one of the classix of all classix.

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 3 August 2010 10:35 (fifteen years ago)

lol, I knew you would say that, can someone say "it's not metal" so we can get the set please? ;)

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Tuesday, 3 August 2010 10:36 (fifteen years ago)

Although, upon review of my ballot, I see I failed to include it. So, never mind.

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 3 August 2010 10:36 (fifteen years ago)

Ministry - Just One Fix (1992) (319 Points, 8 votes)

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Tuesday, 3 August 2010 10:42 (fifteen years ago)

If "Just One Fix" is at 92, I'm starting to have doubts that "Burning Inside" will make it. Though I really have no gauge of who likes what on ILM where Ministry is concerned.

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 3 August 2010 10:44 (fifteen years ago)

this is ILM, you never know what will make or wont make it.

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Tuesday, 3 August 2010 10:53 (fifteen years ago)

who likes cover versions?

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Tuesday, 3 August 2010 10:58 (fifteen years ago)

because one is coming up, by one of the most important metal bands ever. But this cover surprised everyone. Most of you will know the original.
Who wants to guess?

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:01 (fifteen years ago)

Metallica's cover of Green Hell?

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:03 (fifteen years ago)

no..

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:04 (fifteen years ago)

Ugly Kid Joe's cover of Cat's in the Cradle? okay, j/k

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:05 (fifteen years ago)

Arab Strap's version of You Shook Me All Night Long or 1000 Homo DJs' version of Supernaut.

Hey Jabulani! Pope of four four two. (aldo), Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:06 (fifteen years ago)

Slayer - Guilty of Being White (psyche)

kkvgz, Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:07 (fifteen years ago)

You'd better hurry up and start posting these, because there's a coronal mass ejection headed for Earth today: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/space/7923069/Nasa-scientists-braced-for-solar-tsunami-to-hit-earth.html

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:08 (fifteen years ago)

strangely enough, none of these.

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:09 (fifteen years ago)

Sore Throat - I'd Like To Teach The World To Sing

Hey Jabulani! Pope of four four two. (aldo), Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:09 (fifteen years ago)

btw bill magill says he knows what will be #1. So everyone should post what they think the #10 will be now, so we can see who is closest!

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:10 (fifteen years ago)

It's Bring the Noize, isn't it?

kkvgz, Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:10 (fifteen years ago)

I said an Important band ;)

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:13 (fifteen years ago)

Anthrax isn't important? b'gosh, why are you even running this poll? ;)

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:14 (fifteen years ago)

Celtic Frost - Mexican Radio (1987) (319 Points, 10 votes)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGpdtgeZbgk

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:18 (fifteen years ago)

I remember someone mentioning this in the noms thread. Time to hear it, I guess.

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:19 (fifteen years ago)

Damn, thought it would be Motley Crue's "Anarchy in the UK."

President Keyes, Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:19 (fifteen years ago)

As a fan of the Wall of Voodoo original, and never having been a fan of Celtic Frost, this is about as bad as I imagined it might be.

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:21 (fifteen years ago)

Would never have guessed this would have got that many votes.

I'm going to guess now that at least one of my top ten, and specifically my #4, will not make this run down.

Hey Jabulani! Pope of four four two. (aldo), Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:25 (fifteen years ago)

Celtic Frost covered a LOT of styles and influenced lots of genres(thrash/death/black/doom/avant garde metal). You cant really pigeon hole them. Cold Lake fucking sucks though.

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:28 (fifteen years ago)

go on guys, post your top 10 guesses

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:28 (fifteen years ago)

This early? That's usually a top 20 kind of thing.

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:30 (fifteen years ago)

what do you think are certs to be in the running then?

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:32 (fifteen years ago)

Wow. I love Celtic Frost and I can get behind Mexican Radio too. That was pretty bad. At least it wasn't grebo, though.

kkvgz, Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:34 (fifteen years ago)

xp I suspect "Number of the Beast" will probably be in the top 10, but that's just a guess.

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:36 (fifteen years ago)

89 TIE
Sepultura - Territory (1993) (320 Points, 10 votes)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q_WHGV5bejk&feature=avmsc2

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:38 (fifteen years ago)

lotsa ties! considering the points allotment, I wouldn't have expected more than one or two.

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:39 (fifteen years ago)

there's 4 tracks on this point mark, but these 2 have less votes.

but It's really bizarre that they got the same points. It was the last few ballots that did it too.

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:41 (fifteen years ago)

you a sepultura fan?

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:42 (fifteen years ago)

Barely. They were just reaching their prime about the same time I was moving away from metal metal.

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:44 (fifteen years ago)

the next track is by a band already posted.

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:48 (fifteen years ago)

If it's Witchfinder General, I'll eat my shoe.

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:51 (fifteen years ago)

(They're good, but I still think they were lucky to even have one track break the 100).

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:51 (fifteen years ago)

the song is an alltime classic

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:53 (fifteen years ago)

The one coming up, or "Witchfinder General"?

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:54 (fifteen years ago)

the one coming up
it's from the 80s... JF's favourite decade.

pfunkboy (Herman G. Neuname), Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:55 (fifteen years ago)

hooray!

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:56 (fifteen years ago)

WHERE ARE ALL THE BRITISHES WHO SHOULD BE COMMENTING RIGHT NOW? It's not even 8am where I am, and I'm living up to my end of the bargain.

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 3 August 2010 11:56 (fifteen years ago)

but it's not gonna be well known outside of metal circles..
