i got trashed more in high school than college tbh

u live and u learn

J0rdan S., Saturday, 31 July 2010 04:53 (fifteen years ago)

Adding a lime to a Corona is the only way I'd drink one. And even then, it's still a Corona. But to be fair, it is a very, er, easy drink? I mean it's obvious why they drink it where it's hot, I guess. But Edmonton = not hot 95% of the time.

altered boners (rennavate), Saturday, 31 July 2010 04:54 (fifteen years ago)

there are tons of better 'easy' beers tho -- modelo, presidente, red stripe etc

J0rdan S., Saturday, 31 July 2010 04:54 (fifteen years ago)

Oh, I don't disagree. I like Modelo. But I'm not the biggest fan of those kind of light beers, tbh.

altered boners (rennavate), Saturday, 31 July 2010 04:57 (fifteen years ago)

I like this beer

Never heard. Some microbrewery?

altered boners (rennavate), Saturday, 31 July 2010 05:01 (fifteen years ago)

Lucky Kat? It's a Magic Hat beer. Also their Number 9 is really good too.

Mordy, Saturday, 31 July 2010 05:02 (fifteen years ago)

the best thing someone's said to me when I told them I don't drink was something like "Are your parents alcoholics?"

Outkast poll #2: ATLiens

ballerrr (The Reverend), Saturday, 31 July 2010 05:11 (fifteen years ago)

Oh, it's a microbrewery, but I think it's pretty popular. My local supermarket carries it. Super delicious.

Mordy, Saturday, 31 July 2010 05:12 (fifteen years ago)

"slump" was the first trak big boi did the beat for, says the aquemini trak-by-trak from a month or so ago

I'll see if they have it at this liquor store tomorrow that (purportedly) has the most kinds of beer in western Canada. I'm looking for someone new for the lake anyways.

mordy and i agree on beer and football apparently

terry squad (k3vin k.), Saturday, 31 July 2010 05:32 (fifteen years ago)

Magic Hat is out of Burlington, VT so may not be available in Western Canada. I've seen it tons of places in Quebec and the Maritimes though. Bit of a road trip.

I walk away from here and I miss a meeting of the Anti-Saloon League?

balls and adieu (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Saturday, 31 July 2010 12:08 (fifteen years ago)

I drink every night, either wine or liquor. Life without alcohol would lose some of its attraction, although notice I said nothing about getting trashed.

balls and adieu (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Saturday, 31 July 2010 12:09 (fifteen years ago)

^^^^this is also my attitude exactly tho sub in beer for wine

call all destroyer, Saturday, 31 July 2010 12:42 (fifteen years ago)

corona is not "beer," but with a lime it is a valid thing. i would actually buy it more but for some reason i can drink them like twice as fast as any other beer and that just leads to problems.

call all destroyer, Saturday, 31 July 2010 12:43 (fifteen years ago)

sorry i missed this thread turning into yr boring friday with good people posting! i was at a friends watching are you afraid of the dark and drinking high lifes.

now i need to get ready to move a couch from another friend's place to my apt /yrboringsaturday

call all destroyer, Saturday, 31 July 2010 12:45 (fifteen years ago)

i'm not sure all this talk of abstinence really honours big boi's thread. i'm not sure what to make of the fact that i drank more last saturday than a 23-year-old has apparently done in his whole life :/

لوووووووووووووووووووول (lex pretend), Saturday, 31 July 2010 12:47 (fifteen years ago)

ehhh even though he used to bitch at Dre not smoking weed or partying with him anymore, I'm not sure Big Boi has settled down some.

balls and adieu (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Saturday, 31 July 2010 12:49 (fifteen years ago)

are you afraid of the dark!! that sounds like a good night cad

i was drinking high lives @ a club that was too loud & made my ears ring. then i hooked up w. my ex. that was ok tho

blap...tremendo (deej), Sunday, 1 August 2010 08:02 (fifteen years ago)

i went to a party on hawthorne bridge w/ a cracking brass band then went to pdx pop and saw some band called hockey who were pretty good, danced to shitty new wave rarities in rotture, then watched this virtuosic drummer playing his 12-hour composition outside for a couple hours before going home

ballerrr (The Reverend), Sunday, 1 August 2010 12:41 (fifteen years ago)

i didn't drink tho, i'm out of beer money. i can't afford to drink every night :(

ballerrr (The Reverend), Sunday, 1 August 2010 12:42 (fifteen years ago)

i had girls all on me at rotture btw. apparently, as made apparent the past few days, girls love a cleanshaven me, which probably means i will stay that way until i get lazy again

ballerrr (The Reverend), Sunday, 1 August 2010 12:45 (fifteen years ago)

sorry, that was my not-boring saturday night. my highlight of my boring friday night was spilling salsa on my keyboard and shorting out some of the keys.

ballerrr (The Reverend), Sunday, 1 August 2010 12:46 (fifteen years ago)

^^^^^ read that originally as 'sharting on some of the keys' and wondering how the hell it is you type .

San Te, Sunday, 1 August 2010 13:52 (fifteen years ago)

fuuuck i just read this entire thread

werner herzomg (samosa gibreel), Sunday, 8 August 2010 07:37 (fifteen years ago)

some of my thoughts on this album

-some good rap songs on it, but also a lot of crit-bait and wacky left turns that probably seemed like really wild ideas at the time but aren't really that interesting to listen to. the pitfalls of forcing that kind of wild creative spontaneity are put on display here. like prose with really outré adjectives that is not really fundamentally interesting

-some comment upthread about it being "so musical" reminds me of how i felt about fishscale when it came out. but fischscale is way better. and blaqkout is waaaaaay better. i get that this is the perennial surprisingly fresh old man rap album and those are the only rap albums that get rated these days, but it's not up to par with those of previous years & while i hope people do really love and get pleasure out of this album, a lot of what i have read feels forced.

-deeply feeling rtc's point about "lingering air of inconsequence."

-the yelawolf verse is by far the best rapping on the entire album. and yeah, tim is totally otm about trunk muzik being album of the year.

oh for god's sake.

Gucci Mane hermeneuticist (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Sunday, 8 August 2010 12:13 (fifteen years ago)

i like this album cuz it sounds fresh sonically, and finds Big Boi still at the top of his game lyrically. not a mind blowing concept there. culdn't give a fuck if he's applying for medicare yet.

in fairness though don't all albums now have a "lingering air of inconsequence"? serious q.

Ever since Merriweather Post Pavilion dropped and made every future album ever inconsequential... yes, of course.

ilxor has truly been got at and become an ILXor (ilxor), Sunday, 8 August 2010 17:26 (fifteen years ago)

that one song where some i think eastern european national anthem is sampled? generally love kast wacky left turns though

oh for god's sake.

i guess that was a dickish thing to say. there's a different between an album's selling point and it's talking points and so far the talking points are not getting to what i find good about this album

werner herzomg (samosa gibreel), Sunday, 8 August 2010 17:29 (fifteen years ago)

"general patton" just sounds like dipset circa "get em girls". u mostly otm tho.
