yeah "live fast die young" is crap. it feels stuffed into the album, kind of the only thing in it that does but i guess it woudn't be a rick ross album without that

"tears of joy" makes that song totally unnecessary

also is there any more of a transparent way to show that rick ross ghostwrote a verse for you than by rhyming "maryland" and "marilyn"

I dunno, they worked with the "scratched" chorus and it's like Kanye's trying to prove he's back-to-the-basics with the nod to the boom-bap, and I think it works. There's enough space on the track for them to be effective.

I think Drake adds a ton of pathos to the track, but you know I like Drake doing in situations like these (and in general). At least he didn't get a verse.

the best hook on the album after "b.m.f." is wiz khalifa singing "smokin them pina colada papers baby girl we don't fuck with them bluuuuuuuuuuuuunts/ unless i'm with the boooooooooooosss"

"super high" beat is totally the shit -- for some reason it just pops more on the remix -- i think that dope live base just sounds... warmer in the context of two stoners rapping about getting super high

also "trees gets twisted up like fingers and gang signs" is a super dope image from currensy

also the village voice review of this is great

have to say, of all the people I'm disappointed in for boosting Ross I'm most disappointed in Cohen, who I can usually count on to take down shit rap albums hilariously
