yeh so far so blunted. really atmospheric moods cast by the music and a.g. rhyming slow like his bones aching. it's the kind of music you'd hope he'd be making at this point in his life, cut him and he bleed hip hop, standing over everything and looking hard at lief, except maybe on a downer a little too much for the listener to get lost in the smoke. ~too real for the radio~

yeh i'm loving this and i think u should too m@tt. he gets lighter on the second half but even tho he's mellow throughout and even inflecting his voice in this melodic way, somehow the lived-in quality of it still contrasts with the haziness of the mood. the tracks come and go, drift in and out of each other, 17 in 43 minutes. two or three times someone else raps a whole track. it's like this new genre for former formalists, a black book for rap graf.

u cld def bracket this with marcberg and maybe shabazz palaces (need rev to weigh in) and in that case we can tell forks it's a Movement

i really like r gangster but it feels like it drags a bit, even tho it's like 10 tracks. i guess they're all good tracks but it feels a couple too long, maybe because they're str8 up rap tunes and from starlito now i want a bit of crazy off the cuff stuff lyrically or bizarre squeals on the beat, "it's not sloppy enough" i guess, weird complaint. xpost
