this is crazy cuz i'm sure it took zaytoven (sounds like him at least) 10 mins to make this beat and gucci 20 mins to write the verses, and the song just floats out into the blog ether and it's just dope as all hell

finally got around to giving this the full attention it deserves. it's really great, might be his most consistent mixtape yet - there's not really a wasted moment here. no r&b songs either, thankfully.

that said is it rong to say there's no real killer choruses here? no songs (besides maybe "dat's my life") that would crack the gucci top 7 or anything, but 1) that's saying a lot and 2) i'm sure i'll change my mind about that in time

kev you're right about the choruses -- i feel like the rapping is so above & beyond that he didn't even bother with them -- actually i think the "normal" chorus is great as a classic gucci mane chorus that has as much rhyming and wordplay as a verse & also think the "long money" chorus is totally epic

also agree that there might not be a song here (except maybe "dats my life" or "soldiers and cowards") that would crack my gucci top 10 (altho there are a bunch of singular verses that could) but all songs are like... in the 10-15 caliber range and in succession it's kind of staggering

lots of great production, and good beat selection too - can't remember which ones now but i think at least a couple were older songs he was rapping over?

xp yeah i'm hardly complaining, i mean every song here is just classic mixtape gucci - choruses are all perfectly fine and efficient, and his verses seem more focused than i've seen him in a while, they're all good to great imo. even the guest verses are all pretty good i think

i still think this is an oddly sober record & its missing a lot of the pop-weirdness im drawn too ... as long as its just another unique mixtape & not a 'future direction of boringness' im fine w/ it though

it's much more about verses than anything else

i think it's a thrilling tape -- most fun i've had listening to something for the first time all year

Let’s start off with the beat. Gucci bought it for five dollars. If he paid more than he probably cops new wack ass jewelry all the time that he thinks will make look better. He probably gets discouraged easily and calls ppl hater. Gucci sounds monotonous on this track and Swizz can do whatever he wants now in rap because his girl is Alicia Keys(so if he wants to make some wack hooks it’s ok.)
