love the scratched samples on the hooks...i wish there was more scratching in hip hop

the album makes me appreciate shine blockas more too, that intro is so euphoric and the effect is even better listened to in sequence than after loading up a youtube video or whtever

Some of this does sound cluttered, especially when the beats, rhymes, and life rush in to fill the gap between one of his patented two-syllable elongations ("wo-MAN"), and Janelle Monae's equivalent in 2006 would have sounded just as blank as Monae does in 2010. But this is muscle-flexing at its most winning

yeah i like this, it's like bursting with energy, musical ideas, amazing rapping, perfect antidote to drake's narcolepsy

I like it but my favorites are the songs I'd already heard (Shine Blockas, Shutterbugg, General Patton, Fo Yo Sorrows). You Ain't No DJ is pretty great too and I like Hustle Blood a lot more than I usually like songs with R&B hooks.

Maybe the others will grow on me.

glad to see such a great reception for this album. "shine blockas" has grown on me quite a bit. when i saw the video for it, i wasn't sure where he was going, but god did it ever sound great in my headphones.

Besides the skits, the into is also useless. It's funky but totally unnecessary.

on first listen this is better than speakerboxxx by a mile.

Speakboxx was pretty great, it was only The Love Below that dragged that album down.

S'boxxx is great, but it works best in context as a counterpart to The Love Below. This one has enough range to stand on its own.

This is fantastic. tangerine, shine blockas, night night, the train pt. 2 are the ones that struck me the most on first listen. Great all the way through. I agree with this being better than speakerboxxx that was still awesome.

Big Boi sounds like he's having a fucking blast making this music...there's just such a sense of enthusiasm and fun.

but yeah the thing about this album is that big boi sounds really hype and energetic. dont think ive heard him like this in a long time.

the energy + enthusiasm on this album reminds me more of stankonia than speakerboxx/love below

yeah Speakerboxxx had a pretty bummer vibe under a lot of it

kind of a bloated vibe, a bit like wu tang forever.
