I understand why everyone hates this girl, and most of the people I've introduced her to have switched teams and now find her grating, but I just cannot stop loving her. I think it's just the little subtleties (the way she moves her face, her attitude and delivery, etc.)

i think if they were actually "subtleties" people would find her a lot less grating

yeah this one's a minor classic imo. mmts and nicky complement each other well.

really like the production too, sounds simliar to the lil c 'rubberband banks' type beats young dro & grand hustle were coming out with a while ago.

the two tracks that keep springing to mind for me are usher's "lil freak" and omarion's "i get it in". the former, cuz it's like a less try-hard, desperate take on it. the latter, cuz it comes off at first at being completely generic, but that actually allows for a lot more compelling odd touches, like mmts's backing vox for one, and most obviously in the way that backdrop allows weird character rappers like gucci and nicki to be really playful.

This is one of those songs where most of what's going is totally ordinary and forgettable but you would be insane to change the channel b/c any minute now Nicki is going to show up and just totally fucking freak out on the mic.
