Hot Chip - C/D?

Hmm, have gone back to Boy from School tonight for some reason, and now I can't stop listening to it. The programming is pretty brilliant on that track.

Also, I heard them when they were guest dj-ing on some BBC radio thing, and they played some pretty amazing stuff. I wish I had even the slightest clue as to what any of it was. I could sure use me some sweet sweet techno sounds tonight, though...

Amazing how Ready For The Floor has become a proper pop floor filler. Played it last night and people just went mental.

I haven't, but re: hot chip, I love the bit about a minute into "ready for the floor" when the chord changes and it shifts from a "track" to a "song".

Love the Gabriel cover, was really stoked for the Wyatt collab but on first listen it's rather underwhelming and not Wyattesque enough.

So I am finally listening to Hot Chip for the first time ever.

First track on The Warning is fucking horrible. Next three very enjoyable.

made in the dark is better, thought stylus always overrated the warning a bit

"boy from school" is their best song tho

"the warning" (the song) is one of their best songs too

Neither are exactly perfect all the way through - The Warning is patchy in the first half and really picks up in the second half and its more delicate moments are gorgeous. Made In The Dark begins awesomely and then they start fannying around with stupid comedy nonsense like The Wrestlers and it falls apart.

First album, Coming On Strong, is really good. Better than Made In The Dark.

Their entry in the DJ Kicks series is almost worth hearing for their track 'My Piano', classic old school piano house banger.

yeah i love my piano, was hoping the whole of made in the dark would be as good as that

first album is smug duff crud. plus it hung out in my girlfriends cd changer for about 2 years ruining every long car journey in this period. I liked the warning as it seemed theyd risen above the too smart to dance fanboy toss of the first and made a decent sounding album. boy from school had some good remixes. the last one is rubbish though, i also saw them in germany last summer and they were behaving like a bunch of bloody primadonnas because the fat one who hardly sings mic wasnt working

I never listened to A Bugged Out Mix by Hot Chip from earlier in the year, so I wasn't familiar with "Take it In" before now, but a single version of it has went leaky and I'm really loving it.

Next album due in Feb '10 apparently?

OK so I picked up One Life Stand and like it a lot, but I have to admit that their blueprint is endless variations of Sniff 'N The Tears' "Driver Seat"

'Gabriel' by Joe Goddard is as good if not better than anything Hot Chip have ever done, I think.
