yeah, this fuckin' ruled - nearest thing i cld compare it to was keith moon sitting in w/ crazy horse or something... loved how HEAVY it was

Finally got this today. On 3rd listen already and fucking love it.

My very first reaction was: this is like Haino/Tatsuya's "New Rap"! (which is, naturally, a Good Thing). It is, in some ways, but it's also more than that, of course (e.g. the fine closer).

And yeah, where's the download code or whatever?! I'll have to dl this elsewhere for out and about.

Bought it off amazon MP3 last night. Listening now for the first time. Damn.

Serrated Edges and Plain Of Jars are the most Sun City Girls-like on here. What Corsano is doing on Plains And Jars is classic Charlie Gocher (RIP).

No I didn't due to a few reasons - working late, wife couldn't get the baby to sleep, no-one to go with. I did think about walking over later but by the time I was ready it was half 9 and I didn't think it was worth it. Gutted though.

There's also an old SCG track called 'My Dinner With Rangda'. And I THINK she is one of the faces shown on the back cover of Sumatran Electric Chair.

The same week I got this record I checked out a DVD from the library I work at that was a transfer from an old VHS called "Bali: Isle of Temples" and it talked about Rangda.
Also some nice footage of the monkey chant, which is even more impressive visually than it is sonically. Also has some nice folk singing about the sea and rice farming.
It's actually a beautiful film.
