For all of it's ubiquity 10 years ago, I had no idea that Kid Rock song was called "Bawitdaba".

e-drinks @ the smart bar (kkvgz), Saturday, 11 June 2011 10:16 (fourteen years ago)

I still don't even know what that means!

henry s, Saturday, 11 June 2011 13:55 (fourteen years ago)

My favorite Kid Rock story is that he was thrown out of a Waffle House in Atlanta a few years ago. Really sums him up.

I wonder what happened, if he was an asshole to the waitress or something. Also, i wish i had been there so i could have tripped him on his way out.

Looks pretty easy to pick a fight when you have 5 hired bodyguards.

Telephoneface (Adam Bruneau), Saturday, 11 June 2011 19:24 (fourteen years ago)

as long as i don't have to look at him or listen to his music then i guess i'm pretty okay with him

You gotta admit, this guy is pretty ballsy, ramming his van through Kid Rock's gate and attempting to break into his house, alone, in broad daylight, ON CRUTCHES. Talk about an American Bad-Ass!*

* not an endorsement of criminal activity. Stay in school.

Didn't Kid Rock recently like cap his ticket prices at 15 or 20 bucks to keep it affordable? That's kinda admirable, right?

global tetrahedron, Saturday, 3 August 2013 15:42 (twelve years ago)

Was Kid Rock's "Only God Knows Why", the first blatant use of Auto-tune in a song?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMk2fClfOjg

Most places on the net cite Cher's "Believe" as being first, but while that was released as a single in October of 98, Devil Without a Cause was released in August of that year, even thought it didn't seem to start getting hit singles till like summer of 99. Or is there an even lesser known example that predate both?

did a stadium tour with tickets capped at $20 through official sellers. which was mainly Wal-Mart.

Target marketing at its shrewdest.

The Butthurt Locker (cryptosicko), Saturday, 3 August 2013 21:42 (twelve years ago)

was kid rock's "only god knows why" a really moving and great song? (yes.)

are you sure it's autotune on that song? (for the record i find it really annoying when downfall-of-all-music youtubers call every form of vocal processing "autotune" -- tho that's obviously not really related to anything in this thread)

lol i believe i purchased a kid rock album at a wal mart once. i probably only listened to it once, too.

dyl, Sunday, 4 August 2013 05:54 (twelve years ago)

did a stadium tour with tickets capped at $20 through official sellers. which was mainly Wal-Mart.
Also negotiated beer prices down to $4 each and parking to $0. Plus has ZZ Top and Kool & the Gang opening. So very worth the price of admission, even/especially if you don't drink or stay to watch Kid Rock.

I’m always buying more guns. I have everything from a Civil War cannon to an MP5 machine gun and old police guns. If someone invades your house, yeah, you can shoot them. I don’t think crazy people should have guns.

People are like, 'Beyoncé's hot. Got a nice fucking ass.' I'm like, 'Cool, I like skinny white chicks with big tits.' Doesn't really fucking do much for me."

I thought this was going to be about his childhood home for sale. Richie indeed.

Just got back from a weekend in Detroit, by the way, and got to say the dude loves giving away his money, and also getting his name on things.

this guy's so stupid that he calls himself "Kid," even though he's actually a full-grown adult

del griffith, Saturday, 10 August 2019 01:22 (six years ago)

That is a very disrespectful way to speak about our future president (or whatever they'll be calling the warlord of the central North American landmass once we devolve into a primarily pog-based economy over the next few years).
